I used to drive a cab in an east coast city. One day I was parked near a school, and I saw a fight break out between few black dudes on a basketball court. It was basically one guy versus two. The two guys pulled out knives, and I thought something really bad was going to happen to the one guy. I was getting ready to call the police, when all of a sudden the one guy's mom comes running in screaming. She pulls him away by his ear. The other two black guys just fell down laughing.
While it was pretty funny, I had seen too many fights, and I honestly didn’t feel safe where I was. At that point I had pretty much decided I had it with the east coast. I decide to pick everything up and move to the west coast that day and be a cabbie out there. Believe it or not, on the first day of my job on the West Coast, the first person to get into my cab was the same dude whose mom pulled him out of the fight. My mouth was pretty much just hanging open due to the extreme level of coincidence. I started to ask him what the hell happened, and he interrupted me mid-sentence and just said "Yo homes to Bel Air"

I don't drive anything. My car stays in the garage all day. I think about taking it to the grocery store sometimes, but then I get lazy and just go buy whatever I need at the convenience store like 2 blocks away.

Relying On Talent...

^ LOL I know that feel.
I just moved into a condo and the undergrounds here are a biatch so had to see my slade (rubbing pipes and shit) and now haven't driven for a while, like a month actually - odd when you realize how little you need a ride - but I'm starting to itch so I'll be grabbing something again soon.

I mean, you obviously believe what you are saying, but man, you are so wrong. Everyone with a car, takes at least some photos of it, let alone people with great cars. It's something with you or people around you, but it's definitely the other way around. People love to brag, especially about their cars. It's a natural extension of the owner. |

In my area, you have cabs you could call (but you'll be paying a fairly high fare because they have to take the time to drive where you are), public buses that require you to be a registered disabled or senior citizen, or your own car - because most places are rural. The only sidewalks are in the city, and only around larger subdivisions, and the highways only have a bicycle lane if you're lucky. So, cars are a necessity. Which is why the oil companies know they have our country by the balls. |

Not to mention train routes are rarely optimal from where I am to much of the country (you're talking 3-4hrs by train vs 1hr in car in some cases) and having to get a taxi somewhere that far would just be a "errm, no" because of the obscene price. I can understand why people that live in cities don't though.. If I lived in London I wouldn't bother, because you can get much anywhere via train/plane/taxi pretty cost/time efficiently.

There are cars that are just too beautiful not to be photographed though. Sure as hell if I had one of a select few cars that I'd have a photo somewhere.. Although definitely not used as my "identity"
