In case anyone is thinking about using Zensix, don't. They used to be good but they've become really crap so avoid them.

They stopped providing an installer.

They don't host email.

Got this from them today.

Hi Everyone,

This is just a quick reminder that our terms of service clearly defines what is allowed on our servers. In fact, it's on our main page... Chris was responsible for enforcing our terms of service over the last few years and he apparently ignored a lot of the things people have been running. I won't be. For more than two years, this has been part of our "undesirable content" list:

- Scrapers and autoblogs

If you currently run a site that automatically scrapes sites like eBay, Craigslist, etc... and turns that scraped content into new posts on your site, that's a scraper/autoblog and you're breaking the terms of service.

Tomorrow I will start the process of suspending any site that is breaking any part of the terms of service. There will be no discussions on this matter. So if you're running a scraper on our servers, I'd suggest you move it asap.

Thanks,

Eric Reynolds

What a douche bag. You get to run something for X months / years then you have 1 day to move. He could at least give you ample time.

Scrapers have been banned since 2010. Email was disabled because 50% of people who sign-up from WickedFire think paying $0.20/week for hosting entitles them to spam the shit out of anyone they want, using my IPs, and my datacenter got sick of it.

My response to anyone who complains about it? Boo-fucking-hoo. Go spend more than $10/year and get some hosting that you can spam from. I'm done with it.

The best thing I ever did was stop posting advertising threads on WF. Feel free to complain all you want. I don't give a shit.

how the fuck you can make money with $10/year hosting? you're just attracting scums by offering that much. LOL. don't be surprised.

If you advertise a service don't be surprised when people buy it.

And when you start removing parts of the service one by one (installers, email, support desk) don't be surprised when people get pissed off.

It's not about the money it's the fucking hassle of moving sites to other hosting companies, disrupting clients in the process, and the recent disruptions in services with your sever moves / upgrades.

"Feel free to complain all you want. I don't give a shit." Can I quote you on your forum? It's the wrong attitude my friend.

Hostgator here I come ...

You're the one complaining about scrapers being banned. They haven't been allowed for over two years.

And when my datacenter says, "Hey, one more spam complaint from your IPs and we shutdown all of your servers," I shut down email and everyone can deal with it.

Installers... Installatron and Softaculous are both pieces of shit. I'm not going to run buggy scripts so someone can save five minutes of their time installing Wordpress.

There's a helpdesk. If people need support, they can get it. But once again, I'm not going to run shitty software, so WHMCS got the boot.

Go for it. I'll say the same thing there.

Announcing a new service to fill the void!

"Click here" to get your dedicated servers for only $11 per year.

EDIT: Link above currently down due to server issues. Please check back later.

Actually I don't use scrapers and I wasn't complaining about them, it was just an example.

Never had this problem elsewhere.

As far as your customers are concerned installers are incredibly helpful and save a lot of time. No problems with them elsewhere.

You mean the community forum?

As I said, it's not about the money ... we're talking peanuts anyway ... it's just the hassle factor, and clients getting pissed off because they lose email.

Hosting email on behalf of someone else with Zensix is like buying syringes for your patients at a crack house.

This is timely, a buddy of mine on IRC was just bitching about Zensix saying that although he's hosted his site there for years, they're going to ban it because it's an "autoblog".

I've never hosted anything there simply because every time a complaint comes up, Subigo starts going off at his customers in some passive-aggressive manner.

Couldn't really care less about all of it, but the threads are always worth a chuckle. Are these things that you're now "banning" people for buried in some lengthy TOS?

Why do people on WF keep buying zensix hosting? It's clearly not for people on WF - at least not anymore. There are a million other hosts out there. Ones that aren't owned by a smug asshole.

If you can only afford $10 / year hosting you're doing it wrong.

Get a real host, stop fucking around with rinky dink outfits and quitcher bitchin.

I apparently called you (didn't know Zensix was you) a douche bag, because you gave them 1 day to move. Not because you're kicking people out. If someone has a crap load of sites hosted with you it would take more than 1 day to get fully moved.

If $10 a month isn't enough for you then raise your prices instead of belittling people paying for a base package.

Too bad you don't have any competent sys admins. If you did that wouldn't be a problem.
