Overpopulation concerns have to do with the amount of resources and the fact that populations grow exponentially.

Malthus, who was a big inspiration for Keynes, perpetuated this myth that we have a potential resource shortage.

The people who believe this nonsense do not understand economics. And yes Malthus was an economist. A lousy one. He makes Karl Marx look like Eugen von Bohm-Baewerk.

We've already had resource shortages and they have caused wars and famines. Unless you have some kind of accurate crystal ball, there are always potential problems.

There used to be over 50 million American buffalo. Lobster used to be fed to prisoners. Go talk to someone who has been commercial fishing for a number of years and ask them about the catches now compared to before and where they believe things will be 20 years from now.

I personally think there will eventually be Star Trek type devices that will produce fresh "fish" and "trees", but only an all-knowing guru such as yourself can be completely sure of such things.

Wars are the result of poor politics. Famines are the result of poor planning.

And go talk to someone who is able to grow GMO crops. We have more food (and people) now than at any other time in human history.

Government politics and planning will likely increase as the population rises, and they will be at the forefront of trying to regulate resources and such.

There's no potential future problems, everyone move along now and be 100% confident that the mighty Monsanto and the United Nations will make sure everything falls into place perfectly.

Anyway, for example:

http://www.ktla.com/news/landing/ktl...,5286912.story

Nope, no signs of global warming here. Everything is fine and dandy folks. And those damn Africans, Indians, and Chinese did it to themselves... it's their own fault for having so many babies. There's no actual droughts happening though, and no population issues at all (except those damn developing nations having too many babies). This whole drought scare is just government scare tactics to control us, of course.

You know, 10 years ago it was pretty plausible to pass global warming off as a hoax. These days though, it takes a stretch of the imagination to say it's a hoax, or that it doesn't impact us, or that it's not important enough to think about.

Its as much bs as it was 10 years ago. governments just wised up, adopted it as their pet cause of the year 2007, funded some kind of international agency and let the media take over. 5 years later, lies became fact.

Nowadays, you can even ignore all scientists, the IPCC, all governments, the UN, and everyone else. However, you can't ignore the changes in our climate. Take that article I posted above. That's nothing surprising, and this type of thing has been happening month after month, year after year for a long time. Do you think it's just going to miraculously change course and get better, or something? All evidence would point in the opposite direction.

these droughts just happen in desertish climate. its expected. they happened the last 300 years. its just that 5 years ago, media began interpreting as signs of the inevitable apocalypse.

try germany. theyve had "windhosen" for a pretty long time. about 6 years ago, they renamed them tornados and acted as if germany went tornado alley. years later, german tornadoes have claimed a grand total of zero casualties.

If you cite evidence, it helps your argument significantly to at least link to said evidence.

Another of many incidents recently released. That's the polite version too. Search around for it, and you'll find loads of people throwing a panic attack over it.

Those countries will import water from countries that are on the coast.

There is enough ocean water that I don't think those coastal countries have to worry about running out.
