FileZilla is excellent and free.

For a paid alternative, FlashFXP is very very good.

its the server that makes it time out
Ive been using smartFtp for a long while so trust me on that.

Nice to hear I am not alone with that problem, but it is freaking annoying when it happens. I still use it though.

Your opinion. I've used both, and had less problem with WS_FTP. I'll stick with what I like.

yeah, I liked leechFTP before coming to realize that it lets all your PWs and accounts lie around in plain text.

It was pretty embarassing, too, since I just pasted my copy into the companies file server and a colleague AIMed me about it.
"Dude, you gonna leave THOSE lying around?"

Needless to say, I deleted the files and bought him a beer.
