I bought an HDMI cable to go from the computer to the TV so I could stream.

Only problem is, the only thing that's showing on my TV is the computer desktop. The TV isn't showing Firefox or for that matter anything else to display on the TV when I select 'HDMI' as the connection.

What's going on here?

Make sure that "use secondary monitor", or "extend desktop to second monitor" option is enabled, on Win 7 rightclick on desktop, then Screen Resolution, on XP, it should be under properties or something, also try to unplug and plug in the screen again.

check your settings bro.. set it to extended maybe
do you have win7 - ati card => multiple desktops?
no details no solutions

Thanks, that did the trick. I checked Dupe Displays and now you can control the mouse from puter or TV and browser is showing.

Problem now is I'm not getting sound on TV. Works fine when I switch back to cable but once I go to HDMI, sound cuts off.

Suggestions?
