Because Zuck is a jerkoff..
He's not a corporate leader and that's where they will fail. Unlike Google who brought in Eric Schmidt to be a leader instead of a pretender. Mature leaders worry about generating revenue, employee growth, and wall st, not about a technological decisions like native vs html stuff imo.
