seriously though if you post actual GOOD information people won't read it nearly as much as if you post sales HYPE!!!!
Dude I made $10,000 in one day and it was easy. I know this sounds unbelievable but it's fucking TRUE. So check this, true story, I was working like I normally do everyday 8-10 hours a day when I stumbled on to something. You're never going to believe this.... I found a pocket of niches where the clicks pay 15$ each on adsense and it's super easy to rank for. So in no time flat I setup some basic 3-6 page mini-sites and ranked them, shit is was a cake walk. Nothing happened for a while and I thought it wasn't going to work then BOOOOMM! On day 36 I was a rich MOFO. If you want to find out more about this puffery bullshit hype you can find out a gang more on lemonparty.com come check it out. Now let me ask you a question... do people want real information or do they just want to be sold?

Kontera's payouts and targeting are junk, though. :| Edit: At least that's how it was when we tested them like a year ago. |

Okay, I just went there - hadn't been in many months.
Holy crap! I barely recognize it! I read his blog a long time ago because were are in similar niches (with The Tech Zone and my forum), so it was a good read for me. I remember the first month he started the ads and he said he was donating it all to a charity... then he stopped that pretty fast. Good for him for running with it if that's what he enjoys. He's currently catering to the opportunity seekers, and that's a never ending market, so I bet he will continue to do very well. Laura |

I don't bother updating my blog for that reason... and also because I'm just a lazy fuck. But really, as every month passes I can't stand newbies more and more. I know there is a HUGE market for them. They are naive. They will buy just about anything you throw at them, and if god forbid they actually question something, they will let it bug them for a week and then buy it even when they know damn well it's a piece of shit. The really sick part is that even on here, in that stupid free ebook thread we have here, people are STILL requesting certain ebooks that we had found and gave the links away for free and everyone said it was a piece of shit garbage... people are STILL requesting it. Hahaha... fucking newbies man. They only seem to learn AFTER they spend thousands of dollars and get nothing but disappointment in the end. I'll just never understand it. Then they come here and are finally ready to learn... but you know what? Fuck em! I want to get rid of newbies here at WF soooooooo badly, but the majority rule is against me, so I can't -- But we can make it tougher for them to find us (hence the reason we purposely dropped our SE rankings for newbie friendly terms and kept the medium-advanced terms)/rant John Chow is not a bad guy. Seriously. I've known him for 3-4 years now, and he's actually a really nice guy and he knows his shit when it comes to technology and anything to do with the CES convention or Corvettes heh. But for affiliate marketing, ehhhhh...

Whenever you throw out numbers, people pay attention. To this day, my interview with Markus Frind is by far my most read blog post, just because he claimed to be making $10,000 a day at the time.
The mainstream audience hears the numbers, and thats it. They do not understand how the business works. Fuck, there was that one popular blogger that listed Markus as the highest "salaried" blogger. Now, before this sounds like a bash -- John Chow's audience is valuable. His traffic is targeted newbies and there is volume. Advertisers and marketers get just what they want. |

I have to hand it to him, he's running quite the scheme over there. He spams the shit out of the page with ads, which are there to monetize the content... but the content is all monetized too. Best of all, he does this with an audience that is supposed to be more aware of blatant traffic monetization schemes and ad-blind than anyone else. Yet people still eat it up, he generates a shit load of ad revenue, and gains more readers every day.
Pretty much the ideal situation from an internet marketing perspective. I think the "Gurus" are some of the top earners not because they're the best in the field, but because there's more money in playing the Guru role itself. Blogs, eBooks, seminars, e-courses, membership sites, newsletters, etc. Easy to sell when people think you have all the secrets, with ridiculous profit margins. |

Did he upset Google... John Chow - Google Search
Being a lazy git - I Google'd his name to get to his site and it was no where to be found |

I heard he had one-too-many paid links on his site, and Google banned him, presumably 'pour encourager les autres'.
Now there's a challenge. Set up a site (not p0rn, gambling, pills), and make a fat profit on it, while banning the GoogleBot from the start. And then _you_ can be a guru, and tell us how you did it!

I only visit about once a week - less now that he's got a new design, personally I don't think the designer did a very good job... I thought to myself as soon as I saw it 'looks like John himself designed it'.
I'm not really impressed with his content either, it's not very helpful. |

urgh...anyone that posts on how to do something and they "suggests" they sign up here, go there, back to here, over there, oh wait I forgot one of my affiliate links right here...makes for one annoying ass read and that's all it took to never go back after my first visit.
But hey what do I know I don't run a blog on how you can make uber cash like me and I know everyone would kill for my dollar a day secret.

Any chance you guys have heard the newest Shoe money webcast on webmasterradio? John Chow hosts it. Umm it wasnt that bad because he brought on like 2 of his friends, and the guy that redesigned his blog. But John Chow felt the need to bring in a sound effect of a cow, and used it like 3 or 4 times. Making fun of John Cow.... The awkward pause after the sound effects were .... priceless.

He posts about abunch of crap sometimes, I don't read all his posts but there is sometime good information on here that pick up. Can't say I've had a bad experience following little things he does, its not really a blog for affiliate marketers that much.
Yes, most of his crowd is noobies who will do anything he says. |
