Why not just wait and see.
If you've been contributing and are an asset, you should be recognized.

If not, just move elsewhere.

Pretty simple equation isn't it?

-
On the question of membership fees, imposing a subscription weeds out the weak and the freebie seekers.

more important than what you PAY, is what you will get out of it (eg. VALUE).

If you're paying $100/month and you use that info and make an extra $1,000/month from that, the $100 is cheap by comparison.

If you're paying $5/month and you get shit-all for it, it's still $5 down the drain...

Once subscription is levied, there're expectations of higher quality and I'm sure there should be more in the plans than just paying $$$ to have a private place to talk.

If there's additional content/software/tools or other useful shit coming with the subscription, the fees make sense...
If that were true, well than hell yes it would be worth it, but lets be real your not going to learn anything from any forum that will make you bling. the only way to do that is by playing your own game and learning from trial and error. No forum is worth a subscription fee. Its just like these ebooks Jon is so fagish about. Why pay for the common knowledge when its out there and free, thats all youll get from any forum. NO ONE is going to give you the golden key on any forum, free or payed!

Save your $35 a month and use it for pens and paper to jot ideas down on, use it to buy a gay link, use it to buy some cheap traffic, whatever, but dont waste it on a forum that was built around being a free and open resource.

This is such bullshit. I'm not about to blow $35 of my advertising budget for this forum that hasn't proven it can actually deliver a value besides what members contribute.

Sig links? Blah.

Free tickets to conferences, uh, you were already doing that..

Beta new services? Umm, what? 18 months of new services promises. Nothing delivered. Oh, and I love how we get to pay to play with buggy software. How about free beta for all users and the actual cleaned up services offered free to paid members. Yeah, that's a value..

Paid users can contribute new thread topics. Cool, so new members who might know something can't contribute their knowledge without paying you for the privilege. Awesome idea.

Too bad most paid services come from new members usually.

This is interesting. Charging money for memberships to something your members freely contribute already. What about paying contributors then for the exclusive right to use their content under a paid model?

What about idiots like me who manage to contribute enough to rack up 2 trillion rep points. Do we get to beg?

Yeah, this is going to work well. See you on the free side. Sucks.. but I'll get over it.

Oh I'm sorry Princess Scott, I didn't know you were so sensitive to spending $35/mo. Would you like some WickedFire branded foodstamps to get you by?

Oh you're pissed about not getting access to stuff we've developed before so you're whining about it now hoping some other people will come to your side and rise up against making a private section so that freeloaders and leaches (perhaps like you) can save themselves from spending a whole $35.

So $35 from your "advertising budget" would leave you with what exactly? $20 left over? Perhaps it's time you meet a friend by the name of REALITY.

I don't think you're pissed about the price or any of the private stuff, I think you're pissed because your sig link makes you more money than advertising elsewhere, and now you're going to be forced to spam your services alongside of Indians and others on DP or wherever you came from.

Boo hoo. Grow some balls will ya? You girly man you.

So you're saying that you didn't learn shit from WickedFire after the 1.5 years it's been open for? Well, then the paid section is definitely not for you. The free areas where you wasted all your time is still going to be open, so you can continue to spend your time there just like you have for the last year and half and be in the same position as you were back then.

No, you won't learn how to make a cajillion dollars. No there are no free ebooks or any type of that shit in the paid area. It's just my way of making MY life and the MODS lives easier. You have no idea what it takes to run a forum. You probably think it's just a server and some software and posting for fun and kicks. You have no idea how much side stuff you have to give up in terms of your time and effort every fucking day. You have no idea how badly I wanted to keep it open for free forever, and how bad I felt when I had to come to terms with a decision...

Look at a forum like SEOBH, Quadszilla got BLASTED for making it $100/mo. Most people talked shit about it left and right. Even I was against it. That was until I went inside and saw for myself. Addicted in no time flat. That guy may have lost 1000's of potential members, but at the same time he preserved so much fucking great information, and made it worth his while by finally making money for what he did. Yeah, the place doesn't have much live activity going, but spending about a month in there, you can pick up more shit from paying $100 or $200 there than from anyone or anywhere else I've ever considered a "valuable resource" for blackhat SEO stuff. Bash him and his decision all ya like, but you've never been inside it, and neither have all the bashers. And then when they finally do go inside, they all seem to shut the hell up and consume everything they can. Quadszilla is the fucking man for doing that. Eli and Quadszilla both charge $100/mo, SEOBH is NOT for newbies, and neither is WickedFire. But then again he's niche speicifc and so is Eli. And they both caught serious shit talking from people, but that's because those complainers are NOT INSIDE, so they don't speak from experience, they speak from either being too much of a pussy to put up some cash and take a chance or because they are just too fucking dumb and lazy to test it out.

Either way, I'm going forward with this, and if you don't agree, so be it. But this is how things are now. So put up some cash, test it out, and if you hate, bitch allllllll ya like. But if you don't try it and complain without knowing what's inside and what's different then all you are is a joke. Or you can try it for a month and then you can thank me and everyone later for finally giving you the kick in the ass you needed to join up and have fun and learn.

THE END.
