Mustread Plan B for WF Move

Alright.

The original idea was to create new sections in the paid area so it would be organized correctly and have the better/premium ideas and shit going on.

So in true WickedFire spirit and fashion, we went the easy route instead of the originally planned smarter route.

We're changing it now.

The free area will have: All of the old sections like before. No sigs (sorry), limited PM's, Etc.

The paid area will have: More in-depth and better laid out sections and sub-sections. All of the good posts/threads (I'm doing this by hand today). New threads from me every week laying out ideas that I would normally NEVER post here because I don't want them getting whored out or used by the masses. Sigs to all. 500 PM's limit. A shit ton of other perks that I'll lay out AFTER I finish upgrading the paid area.

To those who paid, sit tight for a day, if you feel that you'd like your money back, I'll refund ya.

To those who have made really good contributions to WickedFire in the past, email me at [email protected] with a link to the thread, and your WF username, and I'll add you to the paid area for free for at least 1 month.

Empty promises from before... As a good buddy of mine pointed out, people are sick of empty promises from us. So I need anyone willing to help out and launch everything with us if they can. I'll take all the help I can get. If you're a designer, we need you. If you're a php programmer or coder, we especially need you. I can either pay you in $$$ or comp you here. Email me on [email protected] with the subject line: WickedFire Sections.

We need help and this is where we need you. So instead of just saying "oh it would be great if you did something with the buttons on the top". Now you have a chance to help and be apart of the community in a way that we would be VERY grateful for it. We won't leave anyone behind who helps out, and want to compensate everyone willing to lend a hand. If we can get all of this done before AD:TECH NY, I would be shocked and would love you guys and girls more than my Adderall (that's saying A LOT to those who know me!).

The paid areas are being put into play because we want to seperate the good ideas from the shit ideas. Leaving the shit ideas for people to play with here and do whatever they want with them. The paid area for people who are actually serious about making cash or who want to further their careers in the affiliate and internet marketing industry.

If you want to leave WickedFire because you're too much of a lurker or leech to ever post anything good here anyway, good, be gone with you. Go spoil another forum. To those more senior members who feel they've given more here than recieved, let me know and we'll work something out.

I would much rather 90% of the shitty people leave and never come back, than the 10% of you who make this place great and keep it going according to the original plans. To those who spend their time and effort on here giving without getting back, WF owes it to ya to keep you on board and I do too. Stay and help and let's make a difference together for once!

Good luck and good ideas. I'll sign up for the paid whenever I stop being lazy (hopefully later today).

PS: This little reply box is killing my ego man..

An idea I have, perhaps giving a one week only huge discount to forum contributors for an annual subscription

I still count myself as a newbie, but not I'm at least a profitable newbie thanks largely to WF. Whatever direction this goes and however it all ends up, thanks for what you've provided up to now, Jon. It's been great, and as soon as I think I can afford it I'll be upgrading.

trentiles has a spectacular aura about
I know I don't even have 10 posts yet but I just want to say that this site is a gem. All those "other" forums with similar topics suck compared to WF. The people here and the community is top notch and I'm really to looking to learn a lot from everyone and hope I can help others as well.

One suggestion has to do with the site fee's. Maybe you could offer a few different plans. Have the monthly fee at $35, but then also offer a 6 month and yearly plans at a discounted rate. I think you will entice more people to sign up for the paid membership this way.

Hey Jon,

How about having people pay for having sticky threads in sections.

Like u pay for a week n get ur thread sticky in a particular section for a week.

Also please do something about this shitty quick reply box...it fucking small now

BTW... I'm not shooting ideas down whatsoever if it comes across as that. So keep them coming.

Gotta love how everything here is always done backwards. We launch, retract, then ask for feedback, hahaha. It's like we're dyslexic when it comes to launching shit.

Will free members be able to search? Even if it comes back and says "sorry, that is in the paid forum". But it would be great for the BST section.

Is it just me or does $35 a month seem like a lot? If it was $10 a month I'd probably do it, but not $35. That's more than a porn site!

I thought you were going to do the paid thing just to keep *some* unwanted people out.

This is how much I hate Firefox. I never use it, so the links along the toolbar are old, I never update them because I don't use it..

Instead of showing 0 posts in the private section, maybe you should show it so that we can judge the activity, and then maybe pay if we like what we see. Just a thought, because right now I'm reluctant to pay because I have no idea whats going on in there.

So what is the difference between the 2 paid levels of membership now? It doesn't seem very clear..

(hope the new posts button is back soon, going through the sections is a pain)

You can use paypal without being a member.. by just putting the card details in it acts like a regular purchase form. I'm looking into Google Checkout too.

We have an epassporte account as well, but I'm not such a fan of theirs in general due to some of their fees and limitations.

2checkout, doubt we'll use because their fees are gay.

PLEASE FIX THE GODDAMN IE ISSUE. This is the first time I've been able to post all day, since I'm at home and can use firefox. (only IE at work)

EDIT....i couldn't even PM anyone in to let them know there was a problem, I just watched and nodded as BlondeTM was the only one talking about it .

Please use FireFox because IE is just plain EVIL.

This is awesome Jon, I sure enough could help you a lot with designing, anything from management to other such stuff. Have worked a lot with VB in the past and even now have a few projects running, so yeh it's cool.

I did try to upgrade my account today, but apparently the card that I used with Paypal has reached it's CL, so will have to go in for a new card and only then I can sign up.

Will email you in a bit.

Cheers

Firefox is the tool of moochers. They block ads, so website owners don't get ad revenue. Then when website owners are forced to pass the expense to the end user, those users have heart attacks...wondering why they have to pay.

Well...they don't have to pay but they choose to be picky about where their charity comes from. THEN when there isn't any charity left they get upset and call the website owner greedy and a money grubbing capitalist. Which to some of us (me) , is a compliment.

Oh wait.....what was this about again?

On my forums, the heaviest users used to brag about how they use firefox and have the ad-blocking extension. They believe in free stuff for the masses, all for everyone at the expense of one. Internet communism I think.

I used to laugh because they had an uprising...started their own forum and begged for money because their server kept crashing. I think they fell off the internet a while back, yet the forums they left (the ones owned by the capitalist, who ended up getting advertisers for the users who understood why capitalism works) is doing well.

I swear I am typing this in IE. It works. I have IE7 and all the updates. What version are you on? Have you cleared any addons, cookies, cache etc?And that link had the VBulletin tech support saying it was a template problem. But of course the forum it mentions I can go to fine with my IE7.

I hate the ad block extension. I get to my forum users with ads I program in php. They will see the ads. People like free resources but they aren't willing to pay the piper. I'm waiting for someone to come up with some sort of script that tells people who are using adblock that they need to disable it to see the content.
