Over the course of the last 3 days I have been hitting YSM pretty hard. Messing with budgets/bids/keywords... everyone knows the game.
I have tried to stop them from serving my ads on the content network numerous times. It took me chewing some ass out today that I actually felt bad about - Sucks to be Maria @ Yahoo today ![]() Anyways - here is an email I sent them today. ----------------- I have tried repeatedly over the course of the last 3 days to stop getting bombarded by your content match service. I spoke with several people including William yesterday and Maria today. I was told yesterday (when content match had been off) that I have to add the domains I dont want traffic from to the blocked domain list (which is limited to 250). I was also told there is nothing yahoo can do because it is some sort of "relevant domain match." This is nonsense. Every single site that is producing hits except search.yahoo.com is running YPN blocks. Please look at the "came from URLS" on the log of the 500 most recent entries. Each one of these sites contains nothing but advertisments. This traffic does not convert at all, and I have made it quite clear to yahoo that this poor quality traffic is to be excluded from my campaigns. I was lied to yesterday - When told these hits were not preventable (aside from adding them to the blocked domains list) Yahoo publisher network is the content match network for YSM - this is very simple. Sincerely, William Smith --------------------- I'll update when I get a canned response back from them Anyone else have similar problems with YSM? I dont really like being lied to by someone I'm shilling thousands of dollars out to. |

Yep I have been getting some of the same problems with them. My problem with them has been a little different thought, I have been monitoring the domains that my ads are showing up on and follow them, 50% of them are crappy sites with nothing but adds so I blocked them. Stopped getting traffic from those sites.
My biggest problem is that you cannot block yahoo sites-subdomains and I am using standard match, so on the search network is showing up as exact or standard whatever the fuck they call it but on the yahoo subdomain site it is showing up in the advanced match. So I am getting clicks that are not convertings. I spoke with somebody today and I told her what was going on and she was like why don't you block that domain? Hum, you work at Yahoo and you did not know you could not block a yahoo subdomain. She put me on hold and told me that she was not sure if that site was an advanced match site and she would have to get back to me since it was the weekend it would be Tuesday before she knew something. Retarded. So I asked her if she could just block that domain for me and she told me she could not. What the fuck are they there for if they cannot do shit like that? |

this problem unfortunately pertains to you being mentally retarded. Yahoo has a new feature to block domains you dont want traffic from... If your smart enough set up google analytics on your site, check what sites send the traffic and block them. its really pretty easy man

Yep... and at a rate of adding 15-20 every 24 hours I should fill up that shitty little 250 limit pretty quick. (and no they wont expand it, I asked)
These are all the bullshit "search" result sites and all it is = YPN blocks... Edit- Havok.. you didnt see in my OP about doing the blocked domains? It must be your..."very funny REEEtARdaTion" |

I think they should just give you list of their domains so you can block them from the get go. They will never do that though, lose to much money, we should start a thread here called shitty yahoo sites that you will pay to much for clicks so everybody can just go ahead block them.
Here are 2 for you....lilwayne.com-we gone purple baby and lilwayneringtones.com |
