Checkthisout Good news for Ron Paul supporters

I make extensive use of Google Trends for both all my keyword research needs -- PPC, domain buying, and so on.

I made a post about this on my blog a week back, but damn, take a look for yourself:

Google Trends: ron paul, hillary clinton, mitt romney, rudy giuliani

A search hardly represents a "vote", but it is a good indicator of interest. Considering that the most respected polling organizations (Zogby and Gallup) typically query 500 people while Google is amassing all of the live search data in the United States, I'll leave it up to you to draw your own conclusions.

Additionally I have pulled up some hard MSN search numbers, this is for the month of October:

hillary clinton 13,354
hillary 2,604
ron paul 20,957

Given the data I am seeing, combined with being the #3 Republican in terms of fundraising dollars, I believe we will be hearing a lot more about him come January.

He also looks very good for searches from the Primary states:
Google Trends: ron paul, hillary, romney, guillini

I hate to say it, but mass media perceives him as a "fringe" candidate and therefore anyone caught supporting him is immediately portrayed as a "libertarian jackass"...

Trust me, I'm all for what RP stands for, but sadly the American public has been so immersed in the concept that RIGHT stands for military spending and anti-abortion and LEFT stands for increased taxes and expanded social services that there's not much room for liberty any more.

I hope I'm wrong, but for all of RP's online support, I don't think it'll amount to much. He needs actual VOTES to be a real candidate.

"On the Sean Hannity radio program, pollster John Zogby said that Texas Congressman Ron Paul could end up surprising the field - and "embarass a lot of the frontrunners" by wildly exceeding expectations taking 15 to 18 percent in the New Hampshire primary."

The misguided perception the sheeple have of Liberalism certainly affects things too, it seems many regard 'liberal' as a swear word and also associate it too much with the left wing social liberal school of thought. Can't make life easy for libertarians and right wing or economic liberals.
