I think this is a great idea and if anyone else is falling short financially and needs some WF love to make it to ASW this would be a great thread to ask for it.

Few Rules if you don't mind, just to make sure no one's good will gets abused:
1. Sorry but only veteran WF members in good standing.
2. Only credible project donation venues like dropcash.com or chipin.com
3. Try to keep it to a minimum, you won't need a lot to have fun. No need to get a hilton presidential suite
4. Since I'm sure Jon will mention it, try to be someone we actually WANT at ASW. If you have over 1k posts with positive rep or been active here for over 6 months you're probably one of those people.
5. Don't be shy about it. We want everyone to be able to make it.

I hope we get the whole crew there this year!

The whole thing doesn't make much sense with a brother who dumps this kind of money on a few drinks, contests, fight trips, etc, seems to throw it away like it's nothing.

Why is it that when someone is successful, everyone automatically assumes they're open for mooching? They become the bank of "gimme gimme gimme" as far as leeches are concerned.

I despise it, and I think leeching moochers (and those who champion it) who expect handouts from other people's hard work deserve nothing in life. Nothing. And most of them get exactly that, because that mindset comes with self-centeredness that makes it impossible to be an entrepreneur.

Kudos to Andrea for being her own person, and for being classy enough not to address the comments regarding turning into a leech.

Ok, let's get this straight. I'm trying to understand you moochy types.

If you make a ton of money at your job, and a relative of yours decides they want an unnecessary thing (because ASW is unnecessary thing, not required to sustain life)...do you pay for it? Do you pay for endless amounts of those things? Or do you become like some kind of don that they come to for money and blessings on the purpose of the money?

It sounds like it could go bad for a couple reasons. One, it sets someone else up to be dependent on you, two it sets you up to be controlling, and three it lets a moocher continue to do nothing for themselves and live off the backs of other people. It's creepy, it's wrong, it's moochy. I never will get it. Never.

Shoemoney is shoemoney. Andrea is Andrea. They are brother and sister. He isn't obligated to support her wants and she isn't obligated to support his. Friends and relatives that require that in relationships are manipulative in my opinion. I don't do well with manipulative people so that could be why I don't understand this mantra of "shoe has money take it from him". My philosophy in 2008 is "scrape them off" and I have already started. It's refreshing.

Andrea isn't getting a handout. She is giving value. Go get a link from a decent PR site. They aren't free unless you're BHing, and even then they aren't guaranteed to stay there. Her link was worth my donation. Not to mention I can't go for reasons other than money, so I'd love for some woman in marketing to go that would love to go but can't because of the money.

She didn't twist my arm, she didn't take without giving something in return.

Oh wait....that's called an entrepreneur. THAT is why people don't understand why she doesn't just go "get the money" from her brother. Those people are not and never will be entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs don't do handouts.
