I campaigned at a gun show for Ron and when passing flyers out I was saying shit like "Quit paying your taxes" while passing it out. Some people really responded "I'm an American, that's what I am supposed to do" ... uuh, hmmm ... If school couldn't teach them about the reasons for the Revolutionary War who was I to waste an hour of my time with someone who hasn't enough brain cells to remember Ron Paul's name anyways.

Sadly my time will be wasted here in Arkansas because we have Gov Huckajesus and Hillary on either side of the table, both locals.

I think the fact that these are Republican only caucuses really sell RP short. He will pull independent, anti-war democratic & intelligent republican votes nationwide. Once the real race starts and he's an independent running with Dennis Kucinich as VP, the country will be confused and stay home because they've never seen a elephant and a donkey in bed together (poor fucking donkey). I think he has a real chance, but not when he is just pulling republican votes.
Again, running on a platform stating that you will disband the IRS is a worthless platform. This will not happen...at least not now. The congress will NEVER vote this in.

The "fair" tax idea has more of a chance than anything and it would be a long shot for even something like this to happen.

The demo-socialist would never let this happen. Social services would take a huge blow and the tax leachers would be up in arms. Getting rid of the federal tax will NEVER HAPPEN at least ATM.

The great thing about congress is that we vote them into office too. If the country gets RP into the White House it shows that we the people want this change. After that, we will only have to wait 2 years until voting for a new house & senate. Change can happen, but not overnight.

A flat sales tax is the most logical form of taxing the people. Then you pay taxes on things you buy, not the income you make. We will finally get tax revenue from all the pimps, hookers & crack dealers ... that's big money injected in the system.

Social services, education, homeland security, medicare/medicaid & the dept. of energy would take a blow, but it's desperately needed. There are too many freeloaders running around taking too much of my money. I'm personally sick of raising your kids and would embrace a system where people had to work for their family instead of mooching their way through life.

This is what makes me a very conservative Republican. It's all about taking responsibility for myself and my family.

Dissolving the IRS is only one of the platforms Ron is running on and really not his strongest in my opinion. Also appealing is his stance on bringing military home (worldwide), 2nd Amendment, free market society, personal liberties, the federal reserve & ridding us of the war on drugs.

In a nutshell ... let me smoke my pot and get the gov't out of my life .. the rest is just gravy.

And getting rid of the IRS is guaranteed to not happen if we never try.

Bringing all our military home would be the start of the end for our way of life as we know it. Alternative fuel sources are not an option ATM. We are dependent upon oil and need to have "presence" in countrys where we have "interest".

What we gona let the arabs exterminate Israel?? We are the worlds only superpower. Granted thier are some situations that we are best to stay out of but we also need to look out for our friends and our interest as well.

Remember our isolationist ways was a major reason for japan to attack us at Perl Habor. We kept to ourselves and wouldnt share and they got nervous and desperate and made a move.

There is one thing about Ron Paul that is positive IMO. It shows that the youth of America are sick of the way shit is going on and has gone on. I believe it gives hope of a major change in the way this government will be ran in 15-20 years.

No longer are the youth lookin toward the demo-socialist as the answer but thinking for themselves for once and realizing that neither party is working and the status quo is no longer accepatble.

These guys out hanging hundreds of posters all over cities and working their asses off to try to make a change will be in power in 20 years. Thats when we will probably see alot of the changes RP speaks of.

A superpower, per wikipedia, is:
"a country that has the capacity to project dominating power and influence anywhere in the world, and sometimes, in more than one region of the globe at a time, and so may plausibly attain the status of global hegemon "
So no, China and India were never superpowers. Russia and the UK once were, the the EU... don't even want to comment on that.

Dont worry about Iowa. It is important and I did some PPC for RP there but it was not a needed state. Few presidents have actually won Iowa and then became President, very few. I think it is like 2 people.

It would have been a miracle to actually win there.

Iowa is farm country, RP is against farm subsidies. And ethanol which is made from corn. Iowa makes tons from farming and corn made into ethanol.

58% of Iowans think Bush is doing a "good" or "very good" job.

This is not Ron Paul supporters, RP people are usually "angry" at Bush.

RP won Jefferson County in Iowa and won the independant voters. NH is like 40% independant. We will get at least 15% in NH.

This is not over, and never give up.

Fuel will not go away tomorrow, there has to be a transition period for everything that is ending. Our presence did not keep oil from going over $100/barrel for the 1st time ever did it? Open up Alaska & stop selling our TX oil overseas, we can control the price of oil much better when we mine domestically. We'll be in less fights that way also.

In a word, yes. Israel has enough nukes and enough business to take care of itself. At some point we have to cut the cord and let them be their own country and stop getting breast milk from us. We've got our own problems

Our isolationist ways kept us from loosing millions of people during WWII. We entered the war late and mopped the floor with the axis. In the end we were the world's heroes, no question to it.

That being said, if we follow Ron Paul's teachings to talk and trade with all countries we might not have entered the war at all. But that's not all good because 1/2 the world would now be speaking German and Israel wouldn't exist at all. The bottom line is that we have to use our power when it's absolutely necessary and not abuse our strength at every corner.

Rome was in power for > 1000 years ... if our dollar collapses (which is very possible the way we are printing money out of thin air) our dynasty will end much faster than that.

People get angry at evangelicals (and Christians in general) because their beliefs are a direct threat to liberalism. This anger has become so commonplace that it's actually accepted as a semi-valid position/argument. I mean can you imagine the lashing someone would take if they started publicly complaining about Jews voting or Hispanics voting? Hell, in 2004 the Hispanic vote was touted as the greatest thing since women's right to vote. Every candidate in sight (Bush included) went limp on immigration policy to try and capture some of it. I don't remember seeing a FRACTION of the outrage then that I see every time evangelical voters are mentioned.

And what is religion anyway if not a set of beliefs? So if there is a large body of voters in the US who all share certain beliefs, why does it matter that these beliefs are part of their religion? Would their beliefs be more or less valid if they were part of a political party? Or outlined on MoveOn.org? Or part of an ethnic special interest group? Would this make their voting power less offensive to you?

It's a waste of time to get angry because you're outnumbered. Either change minds or change countries. To get all pissed off because such a huge portion of the country doesn't agree with you accomplishes nothing.

Its not what they vote on that pisses people off its why they vote for it. The secret is out on how to win iowa. For the next 5 elections every politician walking through state will be carrying a bible and arguing over who's the most Christian.

I have to give you props dogfighter. That was the best representation of the christian vote arguement that I have seen on the board thus far. (no magic fairy dust logic or anything!) You are right in your last paragraph (although I would venture to say anger is a good thing as it leads to action many times) but we've got to start teaching this country to think for themselves and the way it starts is with discussions like these.

next election i'm voting for whoever has the best hair. Its a shared value that i feel strongly about.

Voting for someone cus of their hair is no different than voting for them because of their religion, sex, or race. Theres just no good way to justify it.
