ASW 2008 Parties thread

I'm headed into vegas on Sat and headed for the affiliate dinner that evening.

i'll be there on saturday as well wee-man, i don't think i will be going to the aff dinner though. i agree the wf party is always a good time and great chance to meet everyone, i wouldn't miss it!

As far as other parties go..I would email your affiliate managers and ask them. Affiliate Summit isn't a really big private party conference like SES or Pubcon. We can start a contact list if you guys want as far as who is staying where so you'll know where everybody is at/share cabs to stuff/call to party with/stop you from paying for a crack head hooker type of list!

It has moved that way for this one. I don't think we'll have "official" parties any of the nights, since the crowds have gotten fragmented as we've gotten bigger.

Each day will end with a free drink happy hour, but otherwise the private parties are what is happening later on in the night.

I think Affiliate Summit East has parties that are pretty damn good and rival those of AD:TECH NY in terms of how large the parties are and how much fun they are.

Having official parties in Vegas is tough, because there really is so much going on in Vegas, so it's a tough sell to to non-VIP parties open to the industry when every night in Vegas is a party night all over the city.

Come see Shawn Collins at the 2nd Annual WickedFire/Copeac Members only party on Sunday, Feb 24th! Shawn is going to be stripping... his wisdom, not clothes!

I agree that Vegas is tough to have a private party, it's either going to be enormously expensive in some club or have everyone in your suite that you personally invite (thx mike!) SES is good for parties, especially in Chicago or NY
I prefer ASW though because it's not so clique-ish (besides the wf crew) everyone is really cool there

Son of a bitch... I really REALLY want to go to ASW this year, and all the associated events... I, as far as my gut feeling goes, won't be able to make it this year.



It's a total bummer. Hopefully in 2009 I will get to meet all of you, be able to buy you all a round of drinks, and see Laura in a skimpy outfit.

I'm surprised at how few independant parties there are this year. No Pure Imagination party either. I wonder if there will be fewer people at Summit this year? Less buzz than usual.

We're actually trending towards 400+ more than last time in Vegas.

As far as buzz, I'm actually tracking it (via blog posts) and it's far more than any of our previous 8 shows.

i am from the east coast, but i think i might be in santa monica, ca on business from the 21st-24th. im not sure but i dont think thats too far of a drive from vegas....im not a big poster here so most people probably dont care whether or not i show up at ASW, but ill be there as long as i can figure out a good excuse for the gf so that i can stay away a few days longer. i know im not the only one with a girl holding them back...so start rolling out the ideas for me guys.

There is our 2nd annual WickedFire & Copeac VIP party at the Palms on Sunday night. Mike will give us details here on how the VIP part of it will work.

There is a WickedFire party with XY7 at the RIO on Monday night in either a really big suite, or a bunch of nicely sized connected ones. Kevin will chime in with details on this probably a lot closer to the actual event.

So two kickass parties, two great networks, and the best damn forum around.. in Vegas. Booyah!

Since the party is in the actual hotel, everyone will need a bracelet from us to get in, hotel security wont let you up the elevator without it. I will work it out with Jon as to how and where the bracelets will be handed out, then post it in here. There will be an open bar of top shelf liquor.

To get an idea of the number of people who will want to attend can you guys, please post in here if you will attend or not.
