If you read a fiction book, movie all stories are based on XX ammount of basic plots. All great writers never took created a new plot, they just took an old plot and weave in the details. They take what is mundane and make it intresting .

To be honest I do not know how good eli's technical skill are, and to be honest it is irrelevant. But eli is a good writer, he is entertaining . And he has a following. So based on that he is a good cult leader . And he did not force anyone to pay $$$ to become a follower, they all paid out voluntary.
Also i say the technical skills do not really matter, to be an excellent baseball coach, you do not need to be an excellent baseball player.

Being a good leader is a skill, and also requires a lot of work.
In a nutshell people who are anti-eli are jealous. They are too lazy/lack talent to make thier own cult. This outing of techniques is just an excuse to attack.

I am guessing they are probably stupid script kiddies who lack skills, if they did have any skills they would be making $$$ online instead of wasting time with silliness.
