From the very beginning when I started doing internet marketing, I joined Sitepoint & posted a lot overthere! Everything was new to me, therefore also very interesting. When I go back now to Sitepoint, it's not so amusing anymore maybe a little bit boring even. I remember those days that your post might get deleted when the moderator didn't like it!
Since I joined WF a couple of months back, a lot of things has been changed for me: I found plenty of great ideas here to develop and ways of making money online. I only need desperately more time in order to fulfill my dreams heh... ![]() I also chat through IM with several other WF forum members on a regular basis. That's really cool! I can't remember that I was doing that during my Sitepoint time. Also WF (read: Jon) is doing a great job in attracting members who own popular blogs, sites, etc. or are (very) succesful in internet marketing. Those people are really a source of motivation for me what can be achieved in this great business! In the past, it was always a hassle to get accepted with a new ad network. Now often account managers approach me through IM. It's just the opposite way around! Maybe it's time to remove my IM info here on the forum in order not to get bothered anymore heh. I even met yesterday an other WF member (ThreeJuice) in a local pub where I live. Together with a good friend of mine, also webmaster, we discussed interesting stuff!! That was also the first time that I met someone from a forum in real life. It's a small world I guess... Tell us what your experience is? For me: WICKEDFIRE IS A GREAT PLACE TO BE!!!

Wickedfire has led me to do some things that are a little spammier than what I used to do but has resulted in adding to my bottom line quite a bit. It has also helped motivate me to begin working on some of my other projects that were collecting dust. When I started here I was pulling down about 2500 a month now im at about $9000 a month so it has been a very good thing other than shoemoney irritating the hell out of me. If things keep improving and I can get to about 15k a month I might quit my job and finally begin doing this full time.

My story is very similar to yours. At one time Sitepoint was 'the shit' in my world and learning new things there was almost majestic. Now that all seems fairly pathetic. Now that I've advanced, the smoke screen is down and 'shitepoint' strikes me as a place with more than its fair share of noobs, nazi moderators and techie kiss-ups.
I'm enjoying my time here because I like people that have personality.

Jon and WF was that push over the cliff that I needed. It's not so much the secrets, but the motivation. The "get off your ass" pep talks are helpful, cause the money is out there. That's probably the biggest secret, hard work and motivation, and Jon makes that pretty clear, at least to me.
Of course, everyone here has shared a lot of good information. And I definately appreciate that. The ratio of people providing information to the people asking is pretty high. Much higher than anywhere else I've seen. |

This forum forces me to stop "thinking" so much and just DO IT! The value of that makes all the difference. WF is very low on BS, and I hope it stays that way.

I learnt all about Rusty Trombones... although I'm not sure I'll tell my grandkids about them... I now feel safer in the knowledge that I will not run down to the used music instrument shop when asked for a "Rusty Trombone"
3 for WFps - wheres the rusty trombone smilie? |
