Been using my Mac for like a month straight, so the other day I decided to boot up my pc for the first time in a while.

Started messing around with some of my apps and these apps pull html files within the program. For instance, Comment Kahuna displays the HTML files within itself.

However, every time a program tries to access the HTML file Firefox jumps in and asks me if I want to open it. I try other programs that use HTML files within themselves and Firefox continually jumps in and tries to open it. I turn off FF as the default browser and still no luck.

Never had this problem before I stopped using my PC, so maybe it is pissed off at me for not loving it and for doing all my porn searching on my Mac.

Anyone had this problem before and know how to get FF to quit overriding all these programs that pull HTML files?

Have you tried reinstalling firefox? I am not a Mac user but in windows if you go through your programs list to open firefox you will find a safe mode. In this safe mode you can tell firefox to reset to the default settings. You may have inadverntantly changed a setting.

my other thought is that when FF updated it changed some setting. anyways, I'll look into what you said and see if it works.

sounds to me like it's a file system issue within windows. Windows thinks all html files need to be opened with firefox, try restarting.

then try:
1. right click a .html file
2. open the submenu "Open With"
3. select "choose default program" ( it's at the bottom )
