personally i thought red bull tasted like shit in a can i dont know how anyone can drink that shit. the only thing that remotely came close to giving me any kind of energy boost was those 5 hour energy drinks but that shit makes your stomach burn and it doesn't last more than 2 hours. No real energy it just keeps you awake.. sometimes you get lucky and it will actually give you a small boost of energy for an hour or so but then you just feel so shitty like you feel tired but you can't sleep.

I personally don't drink any caffeine at all, but I wanted to try those 5 Hour Energy drinks they always have on the counters at 7-11 so I picked one up. A couple of days later, I barely got any sleep and when I realized my head was falling while I was at work I decided to take it. It actually seemed to work pretty well at first, but then I was walking through Walmart later in the day and I noticed I felt really tired but I had a bunch of energy at the same time. Kinda like a high I guess. Anyway, that was my experience with it.

With 5 hour energy drinks, you are basically paying for a shot of Vitamin B6 and B12. Yeah, they put some more ingredients in there in an "energy blend", but that is just a fancy name for "we don't have to tell you how much of the other ingredients we put in here because it is a secret energy blend".

Ever look at the ingredients? They give you 80x the RDA for B12 and 20x the RDA for B6.

If you want lots of energy, exercise a lot and sleep well. Caffeine and all these other drugs mess with your system. I sometimes drink redbull and coffee not because of the effects (which I can hardly notice anyway), but for the taste.

I recently bought a 1 liter bottle of something called R20 in Sweden though. It's supposed to be the bomb. Maybe I'll chug it one night and see what happens.

BAWLS is probably my favorite (Got one in the freezer now getting all cold and yummy). I also like the Amp orange and Full Throttle Fury.

I have a shitload of SPIKE energy drinks that I bought from biotest when I was weightlifting earlier this summer. Not the greatest tasting stuff, but the caffeine content will blow you away.

Energy drinks are fucking awful. Especially red bull. That shit tastes like medicine. All the other ones (monster, rockstar, amp) at least taste good. But shit, I binged on three larges of those kind one night, and the next morning I had a splitting fucking headache. You're better off with no energy drinks, or at least something with a low amount of caffeine like mountain dew or something...yuck..

The only downside to my caffeine addiction (I take 5-6 200mg pills daily and drink tons of Mountain Dew) is if I for whatever reason can't get ahold of caffeine within an hour of waking up I will have the biggest fucking headache.

I previously did coffee, ephedrine, diet pepsi, red bull, bawls and smoked. It's all good until you burn out. Then you are fried and the recovery time is long.

As I get older (30s), I find a good night's sleep does a lot for my alertness and efficiency.

This is soooo true. The years come off the backend of your life.

NOS has become my favorite, I have tried almost every energy drink out there and lots of them are just shit. Monster use to be good, I'm not so sure they are anymore. Rockstar is good and always has, and NOS will light you up. Amp is worth shit as so are quite a few others.

I have Mountain Dew or Red Bull when I need to get work done (maybe like once a week). If you take it everyday it looses its effect, and then your addicted to it. If you take it only once or twice (or even three times) a week you a big boost when you need it most.
