Douchebag Going Back To School

Yeah so the past couple years I've taken off school because the whole online thing was working so well and I loved doing it. I never went to class when I did have it, just skipped and learned how to build websites instead.

Anywho, now that I'm in my second year out of school and still making good money online, I find myself kind of "bored" with things I guess. I mean I'm not bored and I have a lot of things going on but,

It's like I'm 20 years old, out of college, bought a new car, new house, have a puppy...I feel like I'm going to have my fuckin mid-life crisis in 3 years or something. It just feels like my life is so accelerated because all my friends are still in college, poor, at frats, and doing homework. Anybody else out there kind of feel that way?

Not that I'd trade it for anything, but I think next year I'm going to go back to school and just take 2-3 classes that I actually want to learn about. I'm not going for a degree or going to take any stupid shit that I don't want to, but I feel like I missed out on learning a lot of things.

Wow definitely the cannabis at work.

I loved college. Met a ton of cool new people, went to keggers and parties all the time, got to know some really hot and intelligent girls that I wouldn't have otherwise met. Some of the classes sucked but everything won't be perfect.

But you won't get the full college experience if you just take a few classes here and there. And you definitely won't get much out of your local community college. It's best to enroll in a 4-yr university and live on campus for a little while so you'll be forced to be around new people.

You're still young and have a ton of time.

you should just join a frat for the keg parties, and dont go to any of your classes.
Who cares if you fail out? you already have a job.

Meh I'd actually take the classes out of pure curiosity to learn. If I have no pressure to be forced to complete a class, I think psychologically I'll view it much differently. And if I end up hating a class, I just drop it no big deal. I just went through the course list and tacked a few courses that have no prereqs that'd I'd want to learn about.

Only you know what's best for you, dude. I went to Ohio State University for 1 year, decided I hated studying/classes and quit. But while I was there, I met a ton of cool people who I still keep in contact with today, lived in the dorms, and had a lot of fun (maybe too much fun). It's definitely an experience I don't regret now that I look back.

Some people just have to find their own way in life, and college isn't the answer for everyone. If you find classes that interest you, go for it. I'm lucky I discovered this AM thing and now make a decent living running a design business and also running my own campaigns and websites. College just wasn't for me.

Eventually, I keep telling myself I will go back and take a few classes just to educate myself like what you are considering. But, at the same time, I find the best education is real world experience.

If it's something you really want to do though, I'd say go for it. You're only 20. Still young and plenty of time. I know guys who are 30 and are just now going back to school.

I am probably in the same boat as you except I been out of college for a few years. I went to college fulltime and graduated a bit early and it was really one of the best things I've ever done. A few classes were eye opening and I actually enjoyed the topics. Everything does seem more accelerated when you are in your early twenties, got tons of $ with a new house and anyone else your age is struggling to pay the rent and working a 9-5.

I've thought about going back for a few classes here and there just to open my mind to a few new subjects and get away from working online 16 hrs a day.

College is a good thing if you want a fallback plan. Hell, why not. You can afford it right?

Or you could go and travel Australia (or whatever) for 6 months. Get new experiences rejuvenate, and come back with a fresh new perspective. If it's just for the social aspect of school that's a good option, backpacking in Australia is kind of like college but without the "learning", and a lot of fun.

i went to RIT for many years up in your area Goober, the only thing that kept me sane during those horrible winter months was drinking and partying with friends. If you really have the spare time, i'd be taking classes too especially at your age. Just no point in taking on a full course load, unless all your PPC campaigns died and you ahve nothing else to do
