I don't know where you live, but in my state (Missouri) I see Obama signs in almost every yard of my neighborhood. Of course there are McCain signs as well, but the Obama signs outnumber McCain by about 5 to 1.

I wish you guys (and us too) had a fairer system, and more votes actually meant they won.

I'm not sure how congressional and senate elections work (differs from state to state?) but the US presidential election, with the electoral college etc is far from out first past the post shit - both systems developed when information spread by horses and trains rather then satellites and fibre optic cables - your system, like ours, will never produce a truly representative result, but it seems like it benefits those in charge to maintain the status quo.

First, I know MANY white adults voting obama. Ever think it's your area? Obama even has pretty solid support in Oakland County, Michigan. And for reference, Oakland County is the fourth wealthiest county in the US. Historically it's been pretty republican too.
Second, fuck you for talking down to "kids". I'm definitely in the younger part of those who are legally able to vote, so I'm going to take this one personally. Give me a solid reason I should be written off like that. I've followed politics for years, supported candidates of different political parties, and know the issues. I contribute to the economy more than most individuals in the US by a long shot.
It's not our generation that fucked this up, it's yours.

I'm not quite sure how I feel on that plan yet. When I first heard about it I thought it was a fucking awesome idea, but after finding out that it will be paid for by taxing employer supplied insurance puts a wrench in it. I would like to find out how many people will actually be unable to afford the taxes on their company insurance and end up taking the 5k instead. What happens if everyone takes the 5k, wheres the funding going to come from for that? Still think it might be a good idea if ironed out a little more.

Yeah, I'll admit I get a bit pissed off when I see younger people getting knocked like that, and I also get annoyed at the little transparent muslim/ayers/whatever jabs. If a republican is well supported and talks about actual policy issues, that's fine. But all people like popeye do is spread retardation across an already largely retarded populus.
Once again, we need to focus on actual issues now. And so many people are perfectly content to play the political personalities game that probably contributed largely to this mess. Shit, people like that are probably more to blame than the actual politicians.
I look around my campus and see a lot of people not competent to be choosing what brand of condom a frat boy will be using to bang them later that night.
But they're not the ones who will be voting, and they're not the ones that are vocal in any way.
There's a lot of us that are very well informed on this. And out of the people voting? Nearly all will be I'd expect. I've actually had several conversations with people over the past few days who never gave a fuck about politics, and yet actually have a relatively good understanding of each candidates tax plan.
Michigan State(the campus I'm on) is known as a party school generally. And yet the party scene died during the debates. There were still a fair chunk out, but that's the type that won't be voting. It was a noticable difference though. And yes, the "weekend" party scene starts on thursday normally here.
I was never a Bush supporter. I have however on a local/sate level voted for(and once even campaigned for) republicans.
If you would've asked me 2 years ago about McCain, I actually liked him a bit then. Unfortunately, his personality, politics, and decisions have gone down severely since then.
If Hillary would've won the democratic primary, I would've had to give him some serious thought. But she didn't. And there's someone better than McCain running now.
