Question How to make my children do the same as we do?

How come we ended up living like this instead of having a shit boring cubicle job?

I want my children to do the same as us, so what should I do to make sure that happens?

Give them a nice large tatto on their face. They'll never be one of the sheep that way.

But seriously, I don't know. If you want your kids to think outside the box, you have to make them into outsiders. And that's usually not an emotionally fulfilling position to be in. The way you do it is you move around a lot, and you don't let them stay in one school with the same set of friends - that way they're always on their feet and having to make new friends, rather than marrying their highschool sweetheart after sharing some milkshakes at the drive-in.

Forbid them from getting a job as teenagers and make them do IM stuff to pay for their cars and college.

Make them start hustling from an early age. Door to door sales, telemarketing, make them extremely outgoing. Make sure they build their confidence.

Low confidence = big problem.

Orly

From Someone who is young and just getting into this business, I can suggest that if your able to show them that your a practical example of the success you can have out of this job, and the lifestyle that comes with it, then I'm sure the children would be more than willing to explore the possibilities that exist within this industry.

And also allowing them to participate in the business from a younger age, always helps.

Why decide for your children what they should do in their lives? Instill good values in them and teach them to work hard doing something they enjoy... let them sort the rest out themselves.

I don't think you should do that at all. Fair enough I can understand you wanting your children to be like you, but forcibly trying to shape their life is just going to turn them into rejects.

Create a blog for them, teach them to use social media. Teach them how to make their own posts and pages, they will treat it like school drawings.

Teach them the basics of cashflow and passive income from an early age, tell them to shut their ears at school when they talk about money and nod with a smile. Teach them to search for the information they want in encyclopedias or other books. Teach them to say fuck off to whoever tries to impose a mindframe on them. Tell them to follow their instinct.
Teach them to search for answers by themselves, and not accept canned opinions for any reason whatsoever, not even from you. Teach them to never be a person in the mass, be it a football team or a political party. Put a "This TV is always lying" sticker above your TV set. Better yet, throw the damn TV in the trash. Tell them that the more they know, the more skills they have, the bigger balls they get.
When they ask for money to buy something, instead of telling them "we cannot afford it", say "how can we afford it? Ideas?"
Make them one of those junior banking accounts from an early age, and teach them to save money, to know the process, to make a habit of depositing small amounts of cash and reinvesting it.
Teach them the mantra "He who does not create, only destroys". Tell them to never, ever, ever be one of stupid sheeple in a mass. Tell them that revolutions are for idealistic fools. And tell them to look out for themselves. Make them understand, that no one will ever help them if they screw up. They have to figure it out for themselves. Teach them to take shit from noone. Teach them to be aggressive, passive is for sheeple. Put a "Just fucking do it" sign over their desk.

Does that help?

Your job as a parent is to be a good role model for your kids. If you want them to grow up unhappy and be generally fucked up, then force them to do whatever you think is best for them.

Pretty much this. Raise them to the best of your ability, and they will develop into individuals. If it means having a cubicle job, and they're happy with it, then so be it.

You can't guarantee they'll be successful entrepreneurs, and trying to force them into will only make them miserable.

Why are you deciding for them? Why would you take them out of something that provides security, and drag them into a business that provides no assurances? At least allow them do whatever they want as back-up, and simply extend your suggestions as time permits. If they can then get affiliate marketing - or whatever else it is you want them to do - working at the side, then let it be their decision to quit a job and make this a full-time thing.

IMHO - as the parent of 3 teens, which makes me VERY HUMBLE, my suggestions about the way they should live their lives, dress, and speak in public are not always productive.

But I do this job so I can be around, and not enduring a long commute + work which will eat up 10 - 12 hours a day. I still put in the same 10 - 12 hours on average, but I can be flexible, and I'm here when the phone rings (if I like the phone call or not), and not an hour to an hour and a half away like I used to be when I worked for Big Oil.

But my goal is to provide enough security for my kids so they can go off and follow their own dreams, and not mine. I have 3 kids, and they all have very different personalities, and I could only see 1 of them being happy doing this for a living. The other 2 would need more social interaction during the day, but when I was younger, so did I.

I think that the suggestions that tell you to give them exposure to the methods, tools, and education are on track. Beyond that, OMG, if they want to grow up to be doctors or cowboys or bartenders, it is out of my hands.

Do not give in to their demands for a gaming console with the latest and greatest, or a big screen TV in their rooms. Passive entertainment breeds escapism and laziness.
If they want to be entertained, ensure that the entertainment is something that they need to engage in. Books, LEGO, home chemistry / electronics kits, sports, etc.
A love of reading will ensure they're always willing to absorb new information.
Toys that are open ended, like LEGO, will give good problem solving skills and an ability to think of things other than what's on the box.

Associating "leisure time" with being active or engaging their minds will ensure that they are even more active when they are "working".

Just found this now reading Scientific American on a coffee break:
The Secret to Raising Smart Kids: Scientific American

Decent enough article... Pity I'd end up totally disregarding this and just using Pavlovian style training because I'm a bastard.

I'm doing this because my son (Bob Schmuck) was a good example and helpful!

Follow glowleaf to get kids started.

If your kids are making money young on their blog or website you helped them with, by the time they are old enough to get a job, why would they bother with a cubical? Maybe they are the type that might like it.

Remember......financial freedom is being able to CHOOSE what you want to do. If they have passive internet income and want a cubical anyways, be happy they are happy. Give them financial freedom and let them go!
