Nintendo planning friendlier approach to game difficulty - Video Game Feature - Yahoo! Video Games

Nintendo's idea, made public in a patent application this week, hinges on making demonstration videos available to players while they're playing the game, either as a thumbnail view or a full-screen animation. Players could interrupt the demonstration at any point, taking control back to continue playing without assistance. Think of it as a tutorial guide that lasts throughout the entire game.

Which is problematic. Walkthrough sites can be a goldmine for affiliate marketing, and I was kind of hoping to get one going at some point as a future project.

Seriously sucks.

Sorry, but a game does have to have some challenge to it, not a fucking Nanny walking you through it every time you get a bit stuck. Yes, it is frustrating at first, but the feeling of accomplishment is so much higher when you make it. (And preferably end a game your friends can't).

Modern games are way too easy most of the time anyway.

Now days the avid person can finish a game in less than 4 hours... and thats with help.

Kudos to the guy who actually beat Super Mario Brothers in less than 10 minutes without any hacks.

Me and my buddy can easily beat the first super mario under 10 min without hacks, its not that hard, as long as you have fire power going into the last level. I'm the only one in my group to ever finish super mario 2 without any warps, and as a group we have beat super mario 3 with warp whistles.

Gamers these days have it way too easy, it's like when I play Left 4 Dead, there are a bunch of pussys playing. This is getting sick.

One of my buddies can play tetris and doctor mario sickly. I'd love to tape that, it's the thing of legends.

Mario 3 FTW! Least on an iPod you don't have to keep blowing that damn cartridge. (though I had a friend who kept thinking if he licked the contacts, it'd work better... nothing like some pubescent boys licking their cartridges...)

Fuck Nintendo, i used to work there, they are just sick of all the retarted parents calling in bitching because the newest pokemon is too hard for lil' billy and susie. Games are meant to be challanging.

Once i got a call from a parent because her 3 year old attemted to strangle her 7 year old with the cord between the wii remote and the nunchuck. And told me that it was nintendos fault and was going to sue! WTF i just transfered the fucking call to corp. but how fucking retarted can you be. if you kids are that fucking dumb, expecally the 7 year old, he needed to fucking get strangled. Oh BTW great fucking parenting JACKASS. GODDAMNIT i hated that place. The dumbest people i have ever talked to in my life. worse then working at DELL tech support.
