It is. I saw this setup on the EliteTrader forum, and it's actually just one of several similar stations in the trading room of a small (but presumably successful) operation. It takes a few months to train a new trader to use it, but from then on it's allegedly very efficient.

You can find the guy with 24 monitors on elitetrader.com. He works with a bunch of canadians. They use the setup for trading. The worst part of it is that the photo is from the old setup. The new one uses voice recognition and everything...
