Yeah dude.. it's been a bitch the last few months for everyone in the US. If you are broke/have no money/don't want to spend money - look into free alternatives for online marketing.. don't just sit there though! Build content for your websites, build websites, push content via social bookmarking, there are plenty of free quality ways of getting online exposure to make some money.. good luck man! Read up!

I've always kind of loved to fantasize about the apocalypse and this is as good as it gets. Things are really fucked and it's definitely getting worse before it get's better. I guarantee it. The domino effect of the collapse of the housing market is far from over.

My earning hasn't really been affected, but I get that oh shit feeling thinking about friends and family, several of whom are already in bad spots. I don't know how/when it will all get resolved?

One thing I am convinced of though is that this is one of the best possible industries to be involved in, so if you're not able to live off this yet, keep trying.

I'm finding quite the opposite, I have more work than ever. And have quit my job to go it on my own. I'm lucky because I can design, but I reinvest in PPC which brings in dough aswell, it helps if you have a skill that you can pimp out like design or coding, to pull you through hard times.

I'm happy, alot better off in money terms, and loving not listening to a boss. Kick ass 'recession' for me!

my online store is struggling like a mofo... but i finally made a profit again today from AM, the first in a couple of months. The thing that bothers me about it is its only because of the exchange rate..

I spent $300AUD on adwords and made $260USD, which is about $390AUD. not happy.. more tweaking is called for. I feel so dirty and unsatisfied just profiting from the exchange rate difference.

right now i have work and i have work lined up. but im more worried about some of my family members, hell my dad might have to close his printshop for a month or two, the customers just arent there right now. and i feel bad for his employees. where i live you can really start to see the "oh shit" happening. 4 of my neighbors lost there houses because they were layed off. it sucks.

Back in September when it became really obvious how much shit was hitting the fan, my business picked up. I started writing for more clients, and picked up a virtual assistant gig. Maybe not the big money like is available on the actual marketing end but it felt pretty good at the time.

Then I moved to St Louis and people I would meet at at a bar would tell me how they were losing their jobs, after 10-15 years at the same place, with no similar jobs available anywhere in the metro area. I just didn't feel like telling them, "Man, my business picked up just as soon as everything started going to shit!"

I dunno, I'd say the opposite. When times are tough, cut down and stick to what you do best and go for the sure money. When things are going well, that's the time to take risks and expand.
