Question CPU Temperature?

I have a pretty old laptop. 4-5 years. It's running around 75-78c. Is that way too high? Can a computer just fail out of no where because of heat?

Depends on the CPU... That could be perfectly fine for some and way too hot for others.

Check out speedfan: SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

/my cpu runs at a low 72 degrees fahrenheit (22c)

I have a MBP and it gets hotter than that when I encode a movie. But the entire damn thing is the heat sink...
