I have my prosper 202 hosted on a gator host shared hosting plan. It's on a add-on domain. I want to add an SSL cert so my prosper202 is secure, Host gator said I can only add an SSL cert to my primary domain. Is there anyway around this besides getting a new host for my prosper202 domain and where is the cheapest place to buy a SSL cert?

just get a reseller account. It has to be a top level account because it needs to have a dedicated ip to get an ssl cert

A reseller account is only going to cost you another $15/month

I have the babycroc plan now... Thats another $180 a year... I guess I have no choice... Thanks

ok, to get a ssl cert you'll need to have gator host set it up for you which cost $10 and then it will cost you $2 per month for the dedicated ip.

the cheapest place I found for a ssl cert was rapidsslonline.com which cost about $18 per year.

the hustler is right, if that's going to blow your budget, you're dead in the water.

Buy a dedicated IP and then buy SSL cert for that IP using providers like alphassl dot com
