How Should I Manage My Contacts

So I gave in and got an iPhone. I want to use it as my main contact management system since my contacts are scatterered around everywhere, excel, google contacts etc. I plan to keep all my important contacts in the phone.

Should i manually put them into the iphone? or should i put them into Google contacts and sync...or should I do something else?

Also how do i make sure they stay backed up?

I figured someone here had a good process.
 


If you have an iphone and get lots of business card, try evernote. It's not really organized but more convenience than hard copy. I personally use google contact for my contacts tho.
 
I put mine all in manually because I've found that syncing ALWAYS causes more trouble in the long run than spending 2 minutes per contact entering the info in the phone.

your prolly right i was fuckin with google contacts sync and all of a sudden i have a million bullshit contacts in my iphone with no way to get rid of them

Also, whenever I sync I seem to get all kinds of other crap on it... dunno if it's a compability issue or whatever

I always go the manual route as well
