I always seem to have a tune playing in my head. Tonight's song is Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land."

Does anybody else have this peculiar problem? I heard once it's an obsessive-compulsive symptom.

I get songs stuck in my head all the damn time. Worst part is, they're completely random and usually I haven't heard them in years. Last night it was "Barbie Girl". I was ready to decapitate myself to make it stop.

That's ok, I've had Copacabana playing in my head for about the last 20 years. If there's nothing else playing I whistle it and get it in everyone else' heads too. I used to drive my coworkers mad.

It's either that or it's "is you is, or is you ain't my baby", Tom and Jerry cartoon style.

I know it's called an earworm. I actually know how to control it and stop the repeating: use meditation techniques that empty your mind and stop racing thoughts. This works for me, but it takes some practice if you've never done it before.

Gonna use this method because it's an emergency. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" is getting stuck.
