My brother who works for an entertainment tv show in Hollywood just sent me a txt message saying that Michael Jackson was rushed to the hospital today and that there are reports that he may be dead.

This is not 100% positive, but may be true.

he definitely peaked early, like most artists. the dude was the real deal in terms of music.

off the wall is incredible. he wrote many of the best tunes on that record himself. they added commentary by producer quincy jones and early demos to the reissue. fascinating info for music geeks.

The music had a profound effect on a lot of people that grew up the 80s. I'm not at all a Jackson fan, but he was the top selling artist of all time and to die at 50 is kind of shit. I don't think the emotion lies in the person but in the experiences people had while growing up and listening to the music.
