Really, I doubt that this is aimed at people who want to fuck with the IRS, so much as people who want to embezzle from their employer (e.g. on business trips) or cover up for adultery.
It is kind of funny to me that people would pay for it, though, when you could pretty easily accomplish the same thing with Photoshop. |

The IRS destroys people for this every year. They can easily tell how old the ink on the paper is... I knew a guy who bought a cash register from Staples for the purpose of making fake receipts.
He spent 3 years in jail. Enjoy the site.

It also looks like all receipts print out in the same font which would be a big red flag. Plus, you have to use your CC to order, so that info would be easy to obtain by the IRS. Looks like the site has been up for about a year and doesn't get much traffic, but I wonder how many people decide it's worth the risk.
Too many easier ways to show expenses. |

Tru dat.
Plus you can always play up the "I'm too stupid to do my own taxes" excuse that way. While while they probably won't buy it you just end up getting monetarily penalized not anally penalized.

But if you have a CPA do everything and sign it it's a LOT less likely you'll go to prison. Most CPA's wont' sign it if they think it's bullshit and the IRS knows that. And only a dumb ass scammer CPA would sign it if he/she knew it could easily be proven one way or the other.

In most cases, the IRS requires two things to consider an expense valid - a receipt or other record showing what the expense was for and a credit card statement, canceled check or other documentation proving you actually paid for that expense. Otherwise, in addition to faking receipts, people would just pick up receipts off the ground/out of the trash/etc.
Pretty good idea, though - the guy behind the site has to be making great cash, considering you can buy a USB receipt printer new with the software needed to design the receipts he shows on the site for $150. |

I think you guys are overplaying the IRS angle here.
How do you explain the $100 charge on a credit card for "services rendered" while you were away on "business" to your wife? You can turn it on her as being paranoid when you dutifully produce receipts for out of hour dry cleaning in the name of your hotel or some shit like that.

Isn't that two words and an acronym... or 5 words?
