It was fucking awesome walking around school have damn near every cheerleader and hot chick call you "The Big Sexy" but it was sort of fucking creepy when a guy would do it. So i told the guys just to call me "Fat Tom" because it sounded a hell of a lot less gay then yelling "GO BIG SEXY, GO" and thats how i got this name.
That's a wicked name you need to keep it! We don't normally change peoples usernames here but if you want it BigSexy we can make that happen

I like deli sammiches what can i say

hehe nah. I actually don't like nicknames online so I usually go by Eli but even though i was one of the original first members someone still got the name before me so I went with my real first name David (David Eli Aloisi) but my whole life i've always gone by my middlename Eli so it became Deli. Guy and Man are the username extensions I use to spam sites with when i'm browsing around getting a feel for the system and forms needed because when i first joined this place I was originally planning on spamming it because it was an easy target but I ended up staying because I liked the sense of humor and the intellegence here. Now i spend my time deleting the spam! Hows that for ironic justice

Even though I know you pronounce your name E-LIE because your name on here is Deli-Guy I have to work it out in my brain ahead of time not to not call you El-E. But just incase I ever do you'll know why.

A very long standing addiction to Mountain Dew (22 years and counting).

Anyway, years ago while in the military, I was deployed, and moved the registration of my car from Cali, to Ill. Ill gives free vanity plates, so long as they end with a number. So, Dew Me 2 was the idea, but it was taken already. My mom, in her infinite wisdom, choose Dew Me 5. (I later had a discussion with her that if dew me 2 wasn't available, the only other really acceptable version was Dew Me 69). Oh well.

Many years ago as a teenager, I was convicted by a jury of armed robbery but acquitted of the gun charge. Somehow the jury was convinced I had helped commit an armed robbery without actual being armed.

It's a lot funnier now, then it was then.

My name came from The Boondock Saints movie, only later did I realize it's the name of "The Goddess Of Fair Trade And Honest Merchants".

It actually works out since I do pride myself on Fair Trade and being an Honest Merchant but I'm not so much a goddess, unless I grow some boobs in which case I'll have something more to play with haha.

I figured the only way to scare my competition was to threaten to buttfuck them, hence when they call me a name "hey dumbshit" I respond with "ITS BOFU TO YOU MOFUCKA" or I think quietly "It's a buttfuckin to you" - but Bofu sounded better than Bufu. Meh.

Edit: actual background, I didn't want to be related to my old security-based nickname so I was drunk and typed until someone made me laugh - 'hahaha bofu to youuuuuuuuuu'. Then of course, like a bitch, I named my blog after my old security-based nickname. Le sigh.

Oh christ almighty...another one of these threads.

Okay, here's mine (again), when I signed up, I thought this was supposed to be a serious marketing forum, so I kept the username "corporate". I did corporate SEO at the time and my name is Mike.

Keep in mind, my signup date was 6 days after Jon created WF, so there was really no way of knowing it wasn't going to be all stiff and boring like I expected. If I had used my normal net nickname I would have registered as IronCannibal.

Aha! but I'm not just "someone" been doing it for the last 15 years, oh and it's not me who says I'm a legend at it, it's everyone else.

Doce Pares eh? haven't heard of it I'll have to check it out.

A few years ago, before I joined any forum, I thought a decent way to launder links and earn a few bucks was to make a directory. Being the hack I am, I decided to make it a cms/wiki/directory hybrid and let everyone edit pages while I did the approval of links.

I was so pissed off that I worked dozens upon dozens of hours building and only made a few bones and a couple hundred links off of it that I decided not to renew erectadirectory.com. I used forums (like dp) to promote it.

Thank God I found wickedfire. Last Activity: Feb 9th 2009 ..... yea, it feels good.

Shortened it to erect because it's more fitting to my personality ... now I'm digging the username because I get to do cool shit with my avatar and I always have the option to turn my member page into a parasite to sell penis pills

I normally use another nickname on the web, but around the time I signed up here, I wanted a new one.

In 2001, I went through an extremely hard time in my personal life. It near ruined me, but strange as it sounds - I was saved when I discovered this out-of-this-world incredible album by Dream Theater.

I listened to it constantly for days and weeks and it really brought me out of my misery and help set me straight. I dunno where I would have been today without it.

One of my favorite Amazon review quotes:
Quote:
The listener finds himself interactively engaged with the music, craving a deeper understanding of the lyrics, wanting to decipher the difficult musical passages, and trying to imagine himself as a character in the dramatic scenes that are playing out. Yes, the “images and words” brought forth by this music transports the imaginative listener to a “dream theater.” Like the near-perfect details in these songs, the names of the CD and the band were not chosen by accident.
I still think it is the best collection of music and moods ever put together into one album by anyone.

Mine is a two fold reminder to myself.

1.) That anything I put energy into should become valuable.

2.) Not to let the energy or value become so all consuming that I lose the ability to enjoy life.

I seriously have no fucking clue why I took the nick as Red_Virus some years back and it's been with me ever since then. I thought it was cool & somebody even snatched my nick on Twitter!

I made it when I was like 12, If YoU CaN't TeLl By ThE L33t gayness. It drives me nuts now, but I've used it for years and it's kind of nice to randomly meet people I've "met" online years ago.

*Note to self: PM an admin and have it changed

BTW: I used to play Runescape too, that was the first place I used this nick I have to say that game sucks now though, the gameplay has gone downhill...

fm1234 is a variance on my initials (Frank Mottley IV)

Ironically, I only used fm1234 for serious venues for years ... for some reason when I started getting active on marketing forums I stuck to this, rather than ZenBiker, which I've used on forums, mailing lists and BBS going back more than 20 years. That of course a reference to Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainence.

I used to primarily make all my money writing so it seemed fitting.

Now, not so much because I have money coming in through multiple sources. I still write and offer that service occasionally though.

Because I'm always thinking of travel and getting the hell away from here. Off I go, into the wild blue yonder, like the old air force song.

Edit: actual background, I didn't want to be related to my old security-based nickname so I was drunk and typed until someone made me laugh - 'hahaha bofu to youuuuuuuuuu'. Then of course, like a bitch, I named my blog after my old security-based nickname. Le sigh.

I always think of Bank of America since you can type in bofa.com and it will take you to their site, so similar to the Eli story, if I ever call you bank of america, you'll know why.

sorry. It's just that I've explained it a couple times before and I didn't want to get redundant.

turbo was a nickname from an exboyfriend because I like to kinda stroll when I walked. When I first signed on to AIM around 1996, it was already taken so I added my initials LAP. Then I moved around and didn't have a computer for acouple of years and when I tried to sign back on I either couldn't remember my password or the account was gone. So I just added an extra p to keep it simple. And VOILA: turbolapp.

@rage I chose to change my last name, I would have kept it if I wanted to but I liked my husbands name alot better. Since then I've been told my name sounds like an Author or Movie star. Finally, come on, with how paranoid we all are, you gotta admit it's kinda nice to take on new identity with almost zero hassle and no brow's raised.
