Hooray for our broke, socialist state.

Our state controller sent me my tax retu.....oops, sorry...my IOU for the State of California today. (Don't ask me how I got a tax ret...I mean IOU as an affiliate marketer )

But anyway, apparently I can use this voucher to pay my taxes this year. And they are trying to pass new legislation to allow me to use my voucher at Shell Gasoline stations and 7-Elevens. Ok, I made that up.

Fuck California and the communists that run it. Now I just need to figure out how to get on the state teacher pension fund payroll and on Medicare. If I could just find those forms....

You got a tax refund because you either over paid or committed tax fraud, either way nothing to brag about. The banks are paying full value on them until Friday if you want the cash now.

get this- a friend owns a medical consulting company and thus is paid by hospitals. These hospitals are paid by the state. These hospitals just got I.O.U's and thus can't pay my friend for services rendered. Of course my friend still has to pay his ~25 employees. Because of this my friend can't pay his quarterlies easily and California is charging him penalties.

So the state can't pay it's bills, and thus he can't pay the state but the state doesn't accept that.

Still, California DOES have severe socialist tendencies. If you make over a million dollars a year in California, 53% of it goes to taxes. More than half. Sweden (the MOST socialist country in the world is 65%) with FREE health care and FREE education. And then there is the 10% CA sales tax, that I didn't mention.

We ain't that far away from Socialism in the "tax" sense of the word.

I live in California and its not really the Governors fault guys. He's always trying to push through budget reforms and fails miserably every time.

California's legislature is controlled 2/3 by Democrats, who have socialistic tendencies. But they are even more far left than most Democratic assemblymen in other states. Together with the unions they have run this state into the ground. The problem is people here keep voting for the same people who then turn around and literally rob them blind. There is a huge gulf politically between the north and the south. The south is more conservative while the north and bay area (where I live) more liberal. Most democratic legislators come from the north.

Unfortunately for them the patience of the rich who live here and pay the bulk of taxes may be running thin. State government revenue is down 34% and it can't all be attributed to the economy.

Tax teh rich, lose teh rich.
