Vote in teh poll, number of screens on your work desk.

Im going to refurnish my 'office' and not sure if i should add a 2nd 21 inch.
Are 2 monitors better than one? Is anyone working with 3?

I have 3
My 17" laptop screen which is my primary. a 22" lcd to the left as my secondary and a 42" plasma overhead as a mirror of the primary. I use the secondary for all my work and my primary for my icons IMS and movies/shows

I have two, both wide screen. The one of the right is a 20" high gloss Dell, and it drives my head crazy when I used it as my primary, so on the left I have a 22" matte finish Acer which is my primary now.

Got 2x 22" Samsung - great monitors - was debating to upgrade to duel 24's but after really thinking about it i figured it would give me more a of a headache vs how much i actually care about the extra screen real estate. I would never go beyond duel 22 for myself that is.

Get a 24" screen and use your 21" as your secondary side monitor.

Are two monitors better than one? Of course they are. Studies have shown that there is up to a 50% increase in productivity with two screens. The more real estate you have the better. More windows, more drag and drop, more everything.

Think of it as a prison cell with a bigger window.

12" Laptop for movies, media

2 x 20" connected to one PC, 1 x 19" connected to the other, KVM between the two computers.

two monitors to a computer, two computers, also have a 13" macbook pro which is currently the primary computer...

i found that three monitors is not any better than two, but two monitors on two computers is a lot better...also two monitors are a million times better than 1, I go crazy trying to work on one monitor now...the only bad thing about multiple computers is that its kinda a pain to have to swap files and you cannot copy and paste whats on one screen to the other computer although sometimes i still try not thinking...other than that two computers is great...can do a lot more multitasking and never overload one computer...

15" Macbook pro and a Dell E248WFP 24" monitor. Ideally I'd like to get a refurbished 3007WFP-HC for $800 from Dell.

I've got 2 22"s set up to my PC, and a 24" connected to my macbook pro so 4 total. Ideally I'd have everything running on the mac but the matrox triple head 2 go adapter I got just doesn't work with new macbooks. But I just hooked up synergykm which allows you to use your mouse and keyboard on both mac and PC at the same time.

2 x 22" too...I don't think I could ever go back to 1.

Make sure you get something like Ultramon to extend the taskbar and add a "switch screen" button to your windows.
