Make money from your YouTube video by including it in the YouTube Partnership Program!

Before you can start making money with your video, you need to complete the following:

1. Review the tutorial
2. Link your YouTube account to a Google AdSense account
3. Accept the Agreement
4. Tell us more about the contents of your video

This tutorial will help you understand the following:

• Guidelines on video you can submit for revenue sharing
• How your video can make money
• How to monetize your video
• When and how you get paid
• How to get additional information

Guidelines on videos you can submit for revenue sharing

You should own all rights to the video!

• What does this mean?
  • Do not monetize:
    • A photograph...
    • Any music...
    • Any movie or TV visuals...
    • Any artwork...
    • Any play, theatrical work or concert...
    • ...unless you created the contents of the entire video or have permission of the person who created or produced it.
• Also:
  • Make sure you get permission from people who are featured in your video
  • And don't include "bad stuff" that is prohibited in our Community Guidelines

We are not joking -- these rules are really important.

If you don't respect these rules, your video will be deleted from the site. No exceptions.


It's NOT OK to use someone else's material even if you...

• edit together or "mash-up" other works.
• alter it by 10%, 20%, 30%, etc.
• only use 30 seconds of a song or video clip.
• found it on the internet.
• nobody sent you a copyright notice.
• paid for it.
• give proper attribution (credits).
• are only singing the words of a favorite copyrighted song.

This is copyright infringement and your video will be deleted!


How your video can make money

When you enable your video for revenue sharing

• YouTube will display ads with your video.
• You will earn a share of the revenue that is generated from ad impressions occurring when these videos are viewed.
• For more details on revenue sharing, please review the Agreement at the end of this tutorial.

How to monetize your video

• After reviewing the Agreement you will be asked for some information about your video.
• Any information you can provide about the source of the music or visual images used in your video -- and whether they have been included in your video with the permission of the source or person appearing in your video -- will help the process move faster.
• DO NOT submit any TV shows, music videos, music concerts, or commercials without the express permission of the producer, unless they consist entirely of content you created yourself.
• Only eligible videos in your account may be invited for revenue sharing.

Processing your video can take time. Please be patient!

Once processed, one of the following will happen:

• If approved, advertising will appear with the video.
• If rejected, the video will be deleted from YouTube. You will receive an email notification if your video is rejected.

How and when you get paid

I make a good chunk of change from one pretty popular partner account that I run with a friend. It's actually a lot of fun. And becoming a partner helps you get a lot more exposure to your videos. There are also functions enabled on partner accounts that regular users don't have.

I'd say definitely do it. And yeah you can monetize all your videos once you're partnered (as long as they're your own creations).

Oh and another thing you might want to try is being sneaky about your titles/keywords. When there are no media buy ads to be displayed, partner videos will display adsense ads that you also get compensated for (per click, as opposed to per impression with the regular ads).

Like if you can sneak in diet related keywords in your video title/keywords (hopefully somewhat relevant), you can drive up the click cost since people pay a shit load for those clicks. Know what I'm sayin'?

Update. - I submitted the video it got denied. However, the account is now setup for it and I can make videos and get rev share on them.

How long did it take youtube to get back to you? I applied to the partnership program yesterday morning and still haven't heard back from them. Did they send you an e-mail or just send you a notification on your youtube account?
