I'm looking to buy a cheap ass VPN with a US IP (on a server, not set one up on my PC) to bypass a few blocks and also to check ads and such as if I was in the US. The one I'm thinking of going with is strongvpn.com (from the reliablehosting people). Anybody have any experience with them?

I'd honestly prefer something cheaper, but I still want good service.

Anyway, I don't mind affiliate links.

There are free sites that allow you to look at ads from the US: WorldProxy202 - Proxies from around the world at your fingertips.. If you aren't going to be using the VPN that much ItsHidden is good/free.

I have used strongvpn cheapest package for the same goals like you have, all was OK. I can recommend them. Service is great, live support always there if needed.

worldproxy202 sucks. it takes a long time to load and messes up the web page occasionally. sometimes, for some reason, certain web pages cannot be viewed probably due to an IP address block.

Thanks guys, I think I'll go with strongvpn. I'm going to use them for more than just checking ads (seeing streaming video/music that is for US audiences only, etc).

I'll be sure to post if I run into any trouble with them.

yeah i've used strongvpn in the past, also witopia for about a year... you will get what you pay for.. trust me. If you go for the cheaper packages, don't be surprised when the connection is not only slow as shit but you're still running the risk of having someone who's also got a vpn on your same server listening in. A new one that so far is pretty promising is called alwaysvpn.. they're the only company out there that offers a pay-as-you-go vpn plan. You buy bandwidth and just re-fill your account when it gets low.. great concept if you ask me.

I use strong as well. Just make sure you buy the plan that allows you to change server's... While I am in Spain, I usually switch to east coast servers... connection is good enough to watch all online shows (hulu, abc, nbc... etc) with no buffer errors. I was using a VPN to a computer at a friends.... but it is just too slow compared to StrongVPN stuff.

If you have strong vpn review connection on large no. of server than you don’t need to compromise with speed. You can look through their plans and even can use it for trial period which will be good to know about their services.

Run your own shit on a cheap vps or just socks5. The traffic is only encrypted till it gets to the server.

If you must buy a VPN I'd only recommend one provider = sh3lls.net he's trustworthy.
