I remember last year that Jon, Shoemoney & Threejuice were invited to speak about affiliate marketing & answer questions of the audience during Affiliate Summit West 2007 (if I am correct), just wondering how it went and if someone taped their performance (YouTube/Google video)?

Maybe it was cancelled at the end, because I didn't hear people speaking about it for a long time! Sorry, for not keeping myself updated if that was the case heh...

Nothing wrong with the presenters, but there were an awful lot of stupid questions, no microphone for half the time, and no moderator.

Shoe talked about.... give ya one guess

Jon talked about porn, how he does not do testing or follow-up and how cj fucked him out of $170k, he also gave a running count of number of people bailing.

Andrew had some decent advice, but did not get to talk all that much.

Seemed like Shoe and Jon were telling jokes to each other the whole time.

Andrew Wee filmed it, so it might be up on his blog later.

yeah it was good once it got going. The lack of a microphone and some early dumb questions made it kind of slow and awkward. Second half was good and then it had to end, too early.

I kinda wish ASW would have provided us each with mics and also given us a moderator to keep things flowing. We had some decent questions, but not all that many. Some of those 3 part questions were killer too. Overall I think it went pretty well, had fun doing it, and I toned down the profanity a lot. I may do it again sometime if we could get better questions, but it seems like a lot of people were too scared to get up and ask something decent. Towards the end Shawn Collins stopped in for a bit, which I thought was cool, considering he was so busy the whole time and didn't really go to any other sessions. The turnout was okay too, heard from the woman that keeps count said there were a few hundred people there. Not too shabby.

I thought it was just ok. I agree that if it would have been more organized it would have helped out to get more questions. For those that asked they got an answer from "experts" so they got what they wanted but while andrew had a good point or two just didn't seem like he does public speaking often. Jon and Shoe just seemed to be kickin it and keepin it real.

Jon, it was a pretty good session once it got flowing. You each did a nice job handling some of the more lame questions, and you know you'll always get a few in a Q&A session like this. Overall the session was valuable, especially the second half. During the first half, when it was slow, I thought about jokingly asking "The $16 Million Dollar Question", but that thought faded quickly since I would have just been prodding.

Kudos to you, Shoe, and Andrew for a successful session!

PS - You should do hosting.

Once again the lackluster content of the presentation proves that in order to be successful online and make money you will have to come up with the ideas and implement them yourself. No one will hold your hand or show you the way. You will have to find it yourself.

The internet is the ultimate level playing field. You have your brain, a computer, internet, access to a wealth of free online resources, and 24 hours in a day. What you choose to make of it is entirely up to you.

You can't blame your failure on 'politics' 'discrimination' ect. success/failure is in your hands.

yeah, i agree with what most people have been saying here. the session was kind of a let down, not because the speakers didn't do a good job, but because the topics that came up weren't really that interesting, the mic wasn't working for the first half or so, and the session was too short for a q & a. just my opinion.

if they have that panel again in the future i think it would be a lot better if it were an hour and a half or even two hours, and if the speakers each gave a brief (5 minute or so) run down of their background.. i guess they did a little bit, but i think a good portion of the audience didn't really know what to expect from the speakers and that resulted in the wrong questions being asked (not all of them, but quite a few).

anyway just my opinion.

btw i think i saw a lot of the wickedfire crew at kris jones' (Pepperjam) session. i thought that one was really, really good.

If the ASW people had their shit together, there could have been more questions, and possibly even better ones. There just needed to be a little moderation. Especially in the beginning. It would have been nice to have someone from AS intro the panel, and have a list of filler questions. Stuff that they (AS) could have had prepared ahead of time to get some conversation going.

I enjoyed the session, but the pace was off, and that's the fault of the organizers, not the panel. Kudos to Jon, Shoe and Andrew for making the best of the situation.
