Guys, this thread LPLockdown - If You Like Giving Your Pages Away is getting out of hand. I would love to close it for these reasons:

Some of the accusations made are pretty personal and I don't believe there is any truth to them. Namely Nickycakes "scraping" member information from the Mod CP. Highly unlikely. The backend doesn't lend itself to this type of thing. At least, not in anyway that I can figure out.
Calling for Nickycakes to be "de-modded" is kind of ridiculous. What has he done that is so horrible? OMG, he put an image in his sig and then blogged about how you can do the exact same thing?!? That's horrible! *sarcasm* When that blog post came out, everyone was like "Wow dude, that's so cool", now you want to crucify him for it? C'mon.

In general, I think the thread has gotten out of control and needs to die.

I'm not posting this because anybody asked me to, or because I'm some Nickycakes fanboy. We've had our differences in the past, and my opinion of him was not always the greatest. But that's the past and I don't feel he's a bad person or out to defraud anyone here, and I believe in fairness. The thread defaming him is clearly unfair and a lot of it conjecture and bullshit.

Take the emotions out of it guys and I think you'll agree.

NO WAY. I may not agree with some of the stuff people are posting - but shit, if you decide to release your own product that opens you up to all sorts of people saying all sorts of shit. Nickycakes is a big boy he can handle it. Or can he???

Let it all air out, imo. We've seen tons of other drama about products here, and in the end one of two things happens. The creator gets owned and pulls the product, or it dies down and they continue to sell.

Wickedfire is the closest thing we have as self-regulation in this affiliate industry, we've taken down Dennis Yu, Steve Wags, countless shady networks, and the list will keep counting. Protecting cakes would be irresponsible and setting the wrong precedent, no whether he wins or not. And let's face it, the only reason we're having this discussion is because the guy is a mod and cool with the guys that run this place.

And I love cakes. Had a great time chilling him with at ASW and he's got a great brand. He'll survive this and as everything, it shall pass.

I agree with all of this except "protecting cakes". My thought was not to protect Nickycakes, but just to stop the train-wreck. After reading 6 pages this morning, it got really old. So, that's why I posted this thread to see if I was alone or if the community was also tire of it. Apparently not.

I'm going back to the "If you could bang any chick in history..." thread. Time to reopen that one

im new here and not sure of the rules of when a thread gets closed. i did vote no to close.

it was pure entertainment for me, i wasn't going to buy that product, and felt nothing concerning the drama.

at the end of the day, it's all about that mightly dollar. peers or no peers.

Oh it does lend itself very easily -- that is the whole point of IP tracking... to make it easier to detect multiple registrations, multiple accounts and "investigate members".
