Boobs Treadmill Desk on Instructables (Like Turbo's)

So I get an email from the Instructables.com newsletter. Newest project: Treadmill Desk.

Here's the part I find hilarious. Instructables is a site based around community project submissions. This one was done by the CEO big boss man himself.

Treadmill Desk

I know Turbo didn't completely invent this concept and many others do it, but I think it's pretty interesting that it's slowly but surely becoming more mainstream.

Also, boobs.

I was looking at the various treadmill desks around, and this looks like a cheaper alternative to the commercial ones that cost a bundle. Problem is, I was watching a movie the other night while doing about 1.2 mph on my treadmill - which made my feet and legs tired. I feel more energetic when walking at a brisker pace, making a treadmill desk not terribly useful to me.

It's the same when I go to a theme park or something and stroll casually. I wind up exhausted, finding a brisk walk far more energizing.

I actually agree, thought it was just me.

I can't move slowly at all. I attribute this to being from NYC and barreling down the street. It's also because I walk essentially everywhere.

Working on the treadmill I'll do it at 2.5 - 3 mph and hardly notice it. I find 1.0 - 1.5 miles tiring.

It does take a while to get used to it. And while I prefer to go over 2.0 mph (it just feels more normal) I can't do it for long periods of time, it hurts my feet, knees and back. Plus I tend to crash at the end of the day. You wind up finding what works for you. I can go about 1.5 and then forget that I'm on the treadmill for a few hours. At the incline of 8.0 I still burn about 700-800 cals a sitting (a walking?)

I'm realistic. While walking out there in the sunshine would be much healthier, I know I'm not going to tear my ass away from the computer long enough to do it on a regular basis. This just works.

Now if I would actually step away from the cheeseburgers, I could actually lose that last few pounds. :-/

I feel sorry for the kid pictured. His Mom has the worst haircut ever, and it is extremely unsafe to be carried like that while on a treadmill.

We could start a bad haircut thread.

The treadmill has been useful thus far because it gets a little blood flowing on a day like this with heavy rain outside, where I would otherwise be doing the couch potato thing for 18 hours. Even 30 minutes on the machine is far better than nothing at all.

How soon can you exercise after eating? My mom's still scaring me into believing I mustn't.

Walking(working) slow? Or a regular treadmill speed? I often jump on the TD immediately after eating never have a problem. But regular exercise I can't do after eating, I get those awful side stitches.
