So I made this blog post about 4 am today before going to bed after watching the first 15 minutes of this hilarious video "The Secret." Now I've got a guy claiming that it fixed his vision and he cancelled his eye surgery

So far and im only a few minuets into it, one there is no secret! Its all based on something simple, something that most of us already know! If you remain positive you get positive, if you think and act negative you get negative..... If you focus on success sooner or later you will become successful..... No secret there... Though this video takes it to the next level, past being just common sense to being some sort of metaphysical force....... Seems alright so far though, Im entertained.

After watching the video, I must admit it is worth watching, anyone that doesnt understand the power of positive thinking should watch it. I am glad you made this post because without it, I probably would have never been given the opportunity to watch it.

I am really trying to figure out why the topic of this thread is "Join Me To Make Fun Of"? I saw nothing that was really out of this world, some points were exaggerated, but over all the secret is positive thinking and the power of the mind, thats all really obvious.

Ive know people that have been diagnosed with terminal cancer and died a few days later, I also know people that have been diagnosed with terminal cancer and beat it. the people that beat it refused to die! They saw themselves living and thats precisely what they did.

The mind is a very powerful thing, I for one believe strongly in the minds absolute power. Its all really common knowledge, like I mentioned in my last post, if you think positive you get positive and vice versa. You focus on misery, your going to be a miserable person.

Id give the video 4 out of 5 stars, 5 out of 5 if there were not some instances that were a little exaggerated.

So I take it your not bothered that the supposed experts in the video included a Metaphysician with a bogus doctorate and Feng shui guru?

Or how about the 3 steps to get anything you want in life -- "Ask, Believe, Receive."

Come on, no shit you need to have a positive attitude and desire for something to achieve your goals, but thats not going to be a substitute for laser eye surgery or help you avoid parking tickets.

Oh yeah there is no doubt, taking that shit literally would be a bit screwy, but Im really not sure it was intended to be taken litterally......

No sane person could possibly believe that you could will your way out of a parking ticket, which is the only thing I didnt like, some of it was a bit exaggerated.

But I think the basis behind the message ask, believe, receive is solid in a round about way.....

There are good books on this subject so it annoys me that this docu is turning people off with the goony materialism and "real world" examples. if it does cause some to dig deeper.... cool. However, I'm not cool with them using materialism to pull people into religious philosophies. They claim to be releasing a "secret" but really are tossing cheap table scraps and keeping the real secrets to themselves.

The main topic is quantum physics but the intro spells out some of their other sources. Did you notice the emerald tablet reference near the start? They also portrayed a rosicrucian text, the order of the knights templar and an alchemist.

Honestly, guys - this whole thing can be packaged any number of ways. You may say 'hard work and good attitude', and the Secret people say something else that means the same thing.

If how this is *packaged* helps people and gets the message across in a way that more people will get and use it, then more power to 'em. There are plenty of people out there who will see this and some dim light bulb will get a little brigther. That's a good thing.

I didn't watch the movie but someone curing themselves from having eye surgery is not unheard of. Many people have fixed there own vision.
