Hello, this is Bob Schmuck's wife, I wrote this post about our "good friend" Tyler Cruz today on Bob's blog and thought everyone would like it.

How to spot a online douchebag

1. When you send a list of question to the supposed douchebag, after him agreeing to do an interview, he will send it back and say he was insulted because the questions were not good enough for him to answer.

2. Will refer to themselves as “like Bill Gates”.

3. They post thing such as, and I quote…

“A week ago, in my Grasping Opportunities: Making Money out of Nothing post, I showcased my successful brokering of a very premium domain. Immediately following the post I started receiving quite a few e-mails from people asking me to sell their domains.Even though I specifically disclaimed people to only contact me if they had a truely premium domain…
… I inevitably received the expected e-mails from people who completely overvalue and overprice their domains. I won’t name names here or give out specific examples to protect the guilty. This happens all the time… people all too often overvalue domains.
To illustrate this point, I’m going to go search right now for some random domains for sale. I’ll give myself 5-minutes. Be right back…..”

There is some kind of feeling that you get when you look at Tyler Cruz and when you look at his blogs.

Its sort of a boring feeling, I don't know. He makes Internet Marketing/Internet seem like a boring thing.. I don't know why I feel like that.

I don't know Bob's wife or what this is all really about, and I only know Tyler from reading his blog and a few exchanged emails/IMs.

That said, Tyler has been really cool to me as far as a couple requests I had made to him. Farthest thing from a douchebag I've found on this good 'ol Intraweb, he was quite nice and helpful.

Here's what I think about people ripping on someone they admire just because they didn't give them the acknowledgment that they were hoping for Oh hey shiny light bulb!

I agree.

If you're going to rip on him, at least develop your ideas more and get into specifics. What you wrote was very weak and hard to convince readers.

And wouldn't it make you a hypocrite (kind of, since you're Bob's wife) since Bob also posts his earnings in his blog? I remember him posting his monthly earnings and if you divide that by days, you can get his daily earnings easily. I don't see much difference between that and Tyler's daily earning post.

I love my wonderful daughter-in-law and agree w/some of what she said but not all of it. If people are over-rating/over-pricing their sites, give them some information on how to properly rate them. Instead, Tyler put down the people who had the courage to approach him. Those people (the guilty) will eventually get the hang of it, because at least they are out there trying!

I agree posting earnings can be helpful to others. I suggested Bob try some other questions for the interview, but you know kids and their mom's advice! lol (actually we listen to each other a lot

)

I think maybe Tyler forgot what it was like to start out. I'm also sure he's burnt out on people who want to suck him dry and don't give anything back. The thing is, most people are just reaching out for a little help to move forward.

It's ironic because you accuse him of being a douche bag yet your post was chalk full of douchebaggery.

1) YOU fucked up the interview not him. Good questions = good answers. Stupid questions = no answers.

2) You blatantly misquoted him and took both points 2 & 3 out of context. I read his post about domain appraisals. If you've ever been in the domain auction market you would realize he was right on the mark with his points even if they did seem a bit conceited.

3) Dicetomato is absolutely right with your fourth point. You fucking hypocrite.

4) You couldn't even stay consistent with your own opinion. At least remove him from your blogroll before you make a post bashing him.

5) I really do consider myself "like Warren Buffet." Let that statement swirl around your brain until you are confident enough to tell people that by me saying that, it means something other than like-minded or that I have similar goal sets within my personality. It's really just me trying to convince people that I'm worth 40+ billion.

I was honestly disgusted reading that post and I should of been a lot harsher with this response but i have too much respect for Jan.

Somebody linked me to this thread here. Lot's of people jumping all aboard the hate-Tyler bandwagon :P Go right ahead. I'm just surprised so many people are obsessed with me.

Dice - the questions, if I can remember correctly, were something along the lines of:

"how old are you?"
"what is your biggest earning website?"
"do you like adsense? it is good right?"
"how did you start?"

Well.. something like that

I politely responded with a detailed e-mail explaining that I'd prefer more intelligent questions, and that they should at least research some basic information on me before asking questions.

I linked them to a couple of my interviews (Tony G, Lee Jones, John Ottman, etc.) for some examples.. didn't hear back from them.

Anyhow, for those that hate me - I really don't care. I've never proclaimed myself a billionaire guru, but if you mistake me for one, that's your own problem. If you don't like what I have to say on my blog, don't visit.
