Anyone else get hit by their isp recently? I feel like i'm back on a phone modem.

Anyone 'bypass' this problem? Care to share, i give u rep

using Azureus btw.

I had many slow periods which seem to have been solved by disabling the wireless on my router. I think someone may have been mooching my connection.

Let me guess you've got your internet connection through Telus right?

They are the absolute worst for slowing down your internet connection, countless times I've had to deal with them because of it.

My old roomate actually made them admit that they broke the contract they had with him, when he signed up for his internet connection the contract said he would have optimized high-speed internet all the time.

He had like dial-up speed for almost a month and after 8 calls to tech support one guy actually admitted that he was on the very edge of the connection which was why he experinced such a slow connection so he said he was not going to pay his bill anymore, so a month went by and he owed them about 150 bucks for past payments and shit.

He finally was able to contact another person there which then required him to phone tech back, he told them that he already did and there tech crew were a bunch of high school grads who didn't know dick about anything, (My old roomate didn't need tech support he is a fucking genious when it comes to that shit).

Anyway they looked up the phone calls cause they were recorded and they admited they were in breach because he was on the outskirts of the high-speed connection and they removed the entire amount owing.

The best connection I've ever had was with Shaw, there the best internet service I've ever used in my life, never one single problem, anytime I had to upgrade my modem it didn't cost me fuck all, I just brought the old one back and replaced it for free, no rental charges or nothing, I owned the new one, yeah so if your using telus just know there fuckers.

actually using rogers... supposedly they been throttling down the speeds for torrents, im talking like under 10k/s...those bastards....

it's called packet shifting
it's a pain in the ass but you can get around it, google it

Well I havent experince the packet shifting beofore, right now I'm downloading some torrents at 200K/second, not too bad, I usually only average 100K per second.

does the torrent have enough seeds
