Actually yea it is for real, im confused with this, I used to be able to do it fine but I just keep getting error messages when I do it my old way. And im looking for xxxx.com/xxxx not xxx.xxx.com just to clear that up

Have you tried..... Right Click, Create Directory..... in your FTP client?

What you have to do is to create a new folder in the public_html folder. Call it whatever you want. Then put a html file there called index.html. That's it. Now you should be able to connect to yourdomain.com/whateveryoucalledyourfolder and it will show index.html without showing index.html in the address bar.

I don't understand why everyone is making this so difficult. You need to make a new directory in your main html folder. After you make the directory, put a file named index.htm, index.html, index.php, ect., ect. When someone clicks on a link or types in http://something.com/somethingelse, it will bring up whatever index file you have in that folder.
