I have resume template that i used from my colleges website, it's ok, but i have so much shit jampacked on there, and theres a lot of empty space because most of my stuff is indented.
This is what it looks like: http://ist.psu.edu/documents/pdf/ResumeGuidelines.pdf My friend gave me his resume and his template is a lot better, i'm just lookin for some ideas tho .. anyone got anything in particular they really like? |

I hate stupid resumes and the whole job application process in general. Seems like so much bs most of the time.
Example: "Supervised front-line operations and reported directly to the manager. Responsible for entire operation in manager’s absence." In english: "I worked at McDonalds" |

I was also looking for resume templates.
I found many good examples at http://resumizer.com. They also have a free resume creator that I found very useful!

The information is more important than the way your resume looks. I'd be happy to make some recommendations -- I worked at an employment agency for two years, and I've recently written many documents on this subject.
The template you provided in the OP has every possible section under the sun, and looks busier than it needs to. Depending on the job you're applying for; you could easily condense your particular resume into two or three easy-to-read sections: I.e., Contact Info, Background, Skills -- done! Too many people put a great deal of thought into style, and visuals... but forget that the person reading the damn thing has better things to do than pontificate about how stylish you are. They want the meat and bones information about you. Keep it simple, and keep it relevant. The only time style comes into play is when you're applying for "design" careers. Even then, too many folks get way too fancy. Use "Times New", white background, left justify everything (with bullets for skills and job duties) and decide on two or three relevant headings that will effectively showcase what you offer -- no "References" or other dated and pointless additions that waste space. |

When people sent me resumes that were from obvious templates like that I always put them in the trash. Pretty near everyone I interviewed / tested with a resume like that turned out to be a complete waste of time. Should be clean, concise, easy to read, and no bullshit.
Besides, the point of a resume is to get a phone call, not a job, especially if you're working in the technology sector.
