still it is a great dream and something to shoot for. but ya about the article writer he definitely did nail it when he said that a person who is making millions can't pay off of his home (inexpensive home).

THAT sounds fishy. no envy here. just saying i dont make millions and all of my homes are paid off.

At one time, in the same industry, I was making $200 a day just in Google Adsense income on 2000 unique visitors a day. It's quite possible to make 4-6k a day just in CPA income along with membership subscriptions. Coupled with other sites, it's possible that his income is in the $6-8MM range. Do I think he's in the $18MM range? I doubt that, but unless you're fact checking everything that you say, it's quite easy for someone to take those facts and turn them into something completely false. Just as this article did...

He is a great self marketing person and I like him. But one thing that has always bugged me is this....On his show, various interviews and posts, he has mentioned how in he knew nothing about SEO, SEM, conferences, API's, YPN, affiliate stuff, hosting, storefronts, even blogs (although he has backdated posts written in present tense from before he later said he thought about a blog) and so on. So he wasn't doing much until that conference, etc. He goes to SES San Jose August 8-11, 2005. That famous Adsense check is dated Sept 27th. Google pays for the previous month. So he goes home and implements stuff he learned and makes that amount in 20 days from the 12th to the 31st? Even if you did PPC with thousands of keywords, it takes time to get the words, ads and the general ball rolling. You could spend 111k and make 112k or lose money but the check would still be high. So the time period, check, comments and story just don't completely add up. But it sure got attention to make other things happen.

but maybe that is his secret. pretend you have made a ton of cash then go ahead and tell everyone in the world you have done it. i am sure a lot of ppl will bandwagon to your site and then you get a ton of subscribers.

but hey who knows maybe he is a cinderella story online?

I have seen Shoemoney around since I first got involved in the web publishing marketing business back in the middle of 2005. I consider myself a pretty good job of who is full of shit online and who is not.

I don't think Shoemoney is full of shit at all. I think he is legitimate. Is he a shameless self-promoter? Absolutely, but that is not necessarily a crime, especially when the benefits from him doing it are much less direct than you get from other people.

Do I think he sometimes mis-reads someone or something and goes off on a tangent where he is horribly wrong? Certainly, I have seen it a few times, yet he usually seems to come clean or at least make peace with it.

He is who he is... But I do not think he is a scammer, and I will straight up give him some credit for inspiring me in different ways that has me making a ridiculous income now.

Do I think Shoemoney knows everything about affiliate marketing? No, not at all, although I am pretty sure if you asked him he would tell you as much. I know some things he has said that I have found to be untrue. Not because he is lying, but simply because things didn't work for him that have worked for others.

I just glanced at that blog, but I don't know who that guy is. All I know is he is using the same blog theme as Shawn Hogan. Regardless, I could see his points are mostly without foundation. Not sure why anyone cares.

By the way, if this is a Shoemoney publicity stunt to blog about yourself in a negative way, thumbs up.
