This is driving me nuts tryingto figure out.
I use VB SEO on my forum, and it's been quite a few months now. I also use the Google/Yahoo submission tool and the latest report shows this: Quote:
What causes this result to jump so much knowing how much content/threads, etc. are being submitted? |

It's just the Goog messing with you.
I stressed last summer about our indexed pages (they were low), then made a bunch of changes and the numbers increased. But traffic didn't really change. It made no sense and probably the changes I made had nothing to do with it. Since then, I ONLY check traffic stats. Anything else make me crazy. So the real question is this: Has traffic changed to match the indexed page change? Laura |

Like Laura said, don't stress about the number of indexed pages.
A couple of months after installing it on one of my boards I saw my count jump to just under 200k in yahoo only to see it drop down to 120k a month later. Google was just all over the place depending on data center and whatever else goes on in that little algorithm. I did however notice an increase in targetted traffic. This is after all what matters isn't it? |
