Sogay Feeling lost

I've been looking into doing something for myself (in the last 6 months), I wanted to create a product that i can call my own (based on trends, statistics, data) - but i got discouraged by the overwhelming shit around with not knowing what the fuck i am doing, where to start, who to group up with.
It also seems like you cant trust anyone but yourself.

I am also kind of affraid to spend any real cash (which are my savings) and plunge into a hole...

I read a lot but havent really applied anything for myself. Working 9-5 destroys any dreams for me, always feeling like a fucking slave.

Just laying this out there...

Do you think that if every successful person you see, had
stopped before they began their journey and was like:
"I just don't know what to do and i'm scared of failing"
Would they be where they are at? Hell no.

Are you going to make some mistakes? Hell yes.
But these mistakes will help you make money down the road
because you now know what NOT to do.

You don't have to throw all your savings in, you can gradually
invest when you feel like it's time.

And by product, are you talking about creating your own
physical product?

9-5 isn't that bad, you still have 8 hours left after you
get off work and STILL have 8 hours of sleep to get
after that(And honestly, you can live off 4-5 hours for a while)

And to follow up on Carters motivational video, this is a favorite
of mine that really gets me going.

I am already pushing it with extra hours of work and gigs running but still feel like im not doing anything worth it.
It is not a physical product.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to respond in a serious manner. I guess I really needed that...

Sounds like you need to talk to your supposed customers about your product idea. Find a way to reach them and ask them some questions, after hearing 100 answers you won't be lost anymore, guaranteed. The book "Nail It then Scale It"
Amazon Amazon
gives great advice on that, and not only startup-wise, but any idea validation in general.

You might want to look into selling private dedicated proxies. This is a solid business model.

Oh, and for your competitive edge offer 24/7 support.

lettuce be cereal.

to create a product, you have to use a lot of products to see why they're pieces of shit. I don't know why you need to group up with anyone, or whatever shit. Note down every time you get pissed off at an inferior piece of tracking and why - and then you'll have an awesome product to create that fills a lot of gaps. And then spend 6 months paying someone to develop it properly while you commit 6 mini-suicides.

Starting an IM Soup Kitchen soon - with all the spoon feeding I do.

1) work temporarily at a 9-5 to build up more bankroll

2) slowly build up campaigns, without destroying your savings, to try out your idea

3) don't be afraid of a bit of failure. probably 80-90% of campaigns end up failing. but it's that 10% of success that earns back all your losses and puts you ahead.

Dark Knight Rises - Jump Without the Rope Scene - YouTube

The rope symbolizes your 'savings' and 'your safety net'. There is a reason in that scene no one was able to get out of the jail with the rope tied to them... Sometimes you have to take the plunge and go for it... Otherwise you'll be living with regret for the rest of your life.

Nothing you read here is going to 'manifest' the will to win. It has to come from within. Right now you are too complacent, got a nice job, savings - rope... The rope maybe your safety net but it's also the thing holding you to the ground from truly flying.

"Do it like the child did, without rope..."

"Fear is why you fail."
The other meaning you can take from that video is that there's no point in being the one to go out on a limb. Just wait for the other guy to risk his life getting out, and wait 'til he throws the rope down and you can climb out safely.

That actually brings up a great point. Trailblazers versus copycats. The copycat industry is huge, and nothing to be really avoided. Someone comes along and gives an industry/niche a new direction, essentially he does all the hard work and proves proof of concept (doing the climbing in this case), then pretty much leads the way for copycats to follow (drops the rope down). That's why there are always me-too products that sell, and in several instances may sell better than the original.

It depends on what side of the spectrum you want to be on. You really don't need to be the one climbing, as long as you can do it 10% better than the next guy along the rope, people will flock to you once there is a proven market.

+rep my friend.

Don't get discouraged bro. Shit, I fall on my face constantly at the moment, but each time I get up from something that has defeated me, I realize I get up with new knowledge under my belt and just keep on ploughing through. Falling down, not knowing what you are doing and feeling like an idiot at times is just part of the process for some of us.

But don't give up and don't be afraid to start. What makes most of the real money makers on here successful is the fact that they are willing to take the bumps and bruises, and occasionally fall flat on their faces. It's how you learn new things, and identify those things.

There are only two ways to fail that I can see. One, you try and you give up. Failures along the way are just road bumps. No one truly fails until they stop trying. Second, not starting in the first place. This can be through paralysis by analysis or simply fear of getting it wrong. Don't be afriad of the second one and don't let the first one stop you.

Most things can be started relatively cheaply and scaled from there. Don't use this as an excuse. The more research I do, the more I realize how cheaply you can get a project up and running and after it makes a little money begin to scale up and sink some money into it. The more I make on my sites, the more I spend on them and that start up from the beginning has always just been domains and hosting.

Not true. Wickedfire, despite it's harsh nature sometimes, is a wonderful place to network and meet people that are not only happy to help you, but are very good at keeping what you do to themselves. The enlightened section is a glimpse into what these people are willing to share. Have you fun here, learn stuff, but most importantly network. Over the last few years I've learned stuff from some cool and genuine people who are simply top shelf when it comes being helpful. Guys like grindstone, CCarter, Anand, Illyas and others have probably taught me as much though simple conversations off wickedfire as they have on it.

So get around, post some more, give a little something back to the community and you'll be surprised who is willing to help you. Network, network, network.

One other thing I would suggest is a journal. It can be on here (you will find a few), or simply a book where you write down what works and what doesn't, what costs what and what doesn't etc. Doing it on here would be a benift in two ways; if you encounter problems other members may be able to help you, it keeps you motivated because it's out there, or simply as a sounding noard to bounce ideas off.

Wow, that was a rant. Good luck! Just dive in, the water's fine.

I dont have any books for reference but if you want to break out and do something that leaves you vulnerable then I found it essential to transform your mind so that every day you wake up with the realization that you are at war. It will not end until you have completed whatever the fuck your mission is. Expanding on that brought me to harbor part homicidal thoughts and I found myself working to exhaustion at work on in the gym just to be mellow enough to exist in society,... but I was able to power through about 5 years of life overcoming my total lack of business knowledge for a savagery of work, desire, and knowing I am immortal and nothing except my own failure can fuck me up.

If I could swing that kind of bipolar bullshit again at my age I would piss away my whole bank account without fear. I could give a shit less as I was money in the bank, just had to do the work.

Are you a warrior or a worrier?

WTF? You're not going to let an anonymous stranger from the internet cry on your shoulder? Maybe give him a pat on the back?

Lol, I just wanted to see how many fuckbags would actually respond to a puerile self help shit post like this, and why.

As I thought, it's the usual- people trying to pre-hype some bullshit BST, and idiot dick-jumpers who don't know any better.

Good luck, bros.
