Vent Pricate Messaging is really slow -- Can the time be increased?

hey,

I don't know if other vendors are facing this as well, but I really feel that pm'ing is really slow taking into account the 1 min waiting time there is between 2 pms.

I mean yeah I know this is being done to prevent spamming but I guess reputed vendors can have their PM'ing time reduced to 30 sec or Max 10 secs.

Usually when I wake up I get around 20 Pms and it takes around 40-50 mins to answer all those PMs. I was wondering if my suggestion is viable and some quantum steps can be taken into this matter.

I would definitely be in favor of this. That sucker was irritating me the other day when I needed to send out 4-5 PM's to different members. They didn't need to be lengthy PM's so it was taking forever to send them.

This really creates a hell lot of un-productive activities for vendors like us, who really need to shoot out at least 20-30 Pms everyday.

I'd request other vendors as well (reputed) to share their views into this.

I'd agree. Although I don't wake up to 40 messages everyday there are many times when I need to simply send several messages to users which are the same or the response is as simple as a Paypal email address.

A way to fix this may be starting a vendors group, or after a user receives a certain number of iTraders, posts, or time on the site the timeout between PMs becomes less (i.e. after 10 iTraders it's reduced from 60 seconds to 30 seconds, after 20 iTraders it's reduced more, etc). There are users who stop in from time to time to try to abuse this place by selling their quirky ebooks or obvious methods but if Wicked Fire set the standards high enough to qualify for reduction in PM timeout time I highly doubt it would be abused.

Good thread, glad someone brought this up.

Edit: I'd like to make it clear the only reason I used iTrader as the primary standard was because the original poster was discussing his problems responding to his clients as a vendor here on Wicked Fire. Nothing against the rest of the community who is incredibly active but has little to no iTrader feedback

I just hope this problem is given some due importance. I am sure many many vendors are facing the same problem to this. Specially when it comes to people asking for any type of free samples in the thread itself. It's a headache to Pm 20 guys in more than 30Mins!!

I too agree, belikethat is really pointing a serious problem being faced by many members of WF, I am too fed-up of waiting for 60 sec for each PM.

This is such a pain in the ass that I request all my clients contact me off WF, either thru skype or AIM. Which means I still get a ton of PM's daily. Would def be in favor of quicker messaging limits.

Definitely a pain in the ass. Makes PM completely unreliable for business.

I'd also pay for a larger mailbox.

I had to delete ~400 client PMs the other day to clear up space for new ones,
which I'm less than thrilled about.

ah! Finally we are hitting up with some vendors. Mods, can we have a little chat on this over here. Pm'ing surely has become one hell of a thing now. I really have to think twice before answering 20 PMs almost daily when I get up, let alone the once I get during the day.

I completely agree. Time is money and the pm'ing issue def. takes up useful time. Whenever I've got a lot of pm's to send out I'll always send a pm and then try to do something useful for 60 sec. during the wait but it's still a pain in the ass.

Bump this shit up. I hate having to PM everybody back. I'd pay a member subscription or something to knock it down to 10 seconds, + a larger PM box.

Oh, and let me link a banner in my signature damn it!

I would have to agree.

I haven't been doing much promotion lately due to creating a new user interface for NPP. But it does suck that you can only reply so many times.

There should just be a spam button next to each mail that way we can press it for that unwanted mail

A few months back i had been facing this problem and i got a solution, its only for me... i made new pages on my website Seo Services | Seo Expert - InfoSoftware and put the links on the thread now i have no need to communicate with the clients by PM and client can order anytime if i am available here or not and its working very good for me because this is very frustrated to wait to send next pm... and if we get any solution of this problem then it will be very very good for WF vendors and also for me and i will have no need to make seprate pages for wicked fire clients....

--thanks

I'd pay a few bucks to be able to get private messaging restrictions lifted. Even though I feel the best way to determine if it should be lifted would be by post count or iTrader or both.

I have seen the thread for ages and just presumed it was some 1 post wonder who wanted to be able to send a PM.

My PM box is still 95% full although I try to delete messages almost everyday. We definitely need a larger Pm box and the waiting time can be reduced too. In order to avoid spamming, this facility can be given to members after a certain amount of posts in WF. Say, around 500-1000 posts should be good enough.

Thanks for the time reduce. For those of you that were talking about deleting messages and may not know; you can export selected messages as a CSV so you don't have to lose your correspondence with clients. It's in the bottom right of the PM screen.

This made a huge difference! I had to send about 10 PM's just a few minutes ago and it was far easier and more efficient. Thank you Stanley!
