The more post you have...

the more forums come out of hiding.

I think that would be cool, and a bit of intrigue never hurts!

I don't have any forums that this would benefit.

I had a forum where you had to registar to unlock loads of hidden sections - got quite a few extra sign ups
it was a dance music site and when registered you got access to free sample packs that were in the hidden forums so this idea does work

I think that there is already enough incentive for post whoring on these forums. What's going on now is great to bring up the userbase, and once the contest is over what will be left is a decent userbase of useful content. But if there was a constant drive to get your post count up, the quality of the forums would be brought down by all the useless posts.

Well you would get some useless posts, but since when is a post useless? As long as the off topic banter stays in their appropriate sections who cares right? A community needs a community feel.

This is a cool idea, Rex. But it should also remain a secret... having new forums just pop up. It would seem like the admin was hard at work adding new content, etc. (but not if members know what's ahead)

It might just be me... but seeing all the posts that you know are made just to raise a post count is annoying as all hell. I could see how it could drive users away.

Hey, if you think that's great just wait until you see the 150+ plus posters area. It will blow your mind.

NOOOOOO! It's already addicting like crack, if we do this then... how will Jon cover the costs of people who lose money for being hooked on uncovering hidden forums all the time!?

Ok there maybe some useless posts but the sheer number of threads and new users is keeping the post count high.

This hidden forum idea sounds cool, but probably unworkable in reality

Agreed. To the forums fortune, so far it's actually looked pretty clean.

Well, there will be some hidden options loaded randomly onto the site, but I'm not going to get into it until it launches.
