I said it before and I'll say it again, no matter if you learn something or not, college is a lot of fun. It's one of those experiences you will never be able to have again in 10 years. Just enjoy it and do it if you can.

Unless your business requires so much of your time that you just can't take the time for a 9 or 12 unit course load, (and honestly most people doing AM really aren't as busy as they imagine they are), go to college.

Just dropped out of school. Now working 40/50 hours a week on my AM business and I'm doing pretty well $)

Recommended: stop school if you want to run your own business. Don't wait, time is money

I hope you all have good business skills and a true love for business when you're dropping out or not going to college when you have the means to.

So many people are going to be fucked in the next few years due to ignorance.

Sorry, didn't read the rest of this thread but as someone who dropped out and came back to school (part time), I thought I'd summarize my thoughts:

#1.) I came back because I miss being part of the community that I lived in, mostly. Being a full time AM really isolates you with what's going on (if you're like me and sit at the computer all day). Before this I was involved in a fraternity as well as student government. I thought I'd be able to keep up my contacts in both those institutions but once you're out, you're out, really.

#2.) A degree can't hurt. I'm already more than half way done and I figured I might as well finish it. I will obviously try less as hard as I used to be and I am taking less classes, but at least I won't feel like I've wasted ALL of my time here. And I'm flirting with the idea of paying someone to take classes for me.. now that's outsourcing!

#3.) Party party party.

Im in the same situation as this post.

If anything I might go back just so I can sell stuff to students. population over 40,000, and highly trafficked areas = bank???

But really, the papers, the classes, its all bullshit. It's conditioning. The value of college is a mental construct. However, there is much to be said about staying within societies norms in order to succeed.. at least in this case.

But here is the kicker... the paper you get is probably worthless outside of the USA.. and that is where I am headed. I need a job that can move with me. I am not going to be tied down. I am not a sheep.

Look at the top list of billionaires. Does it matter where they went to school? Some of them even dropped out.

The networking aspect of school is really all that it is good for.

They say that a degree can help you get a foot in the door. Whose door? I want my own goddamn door. Then I can let myself all the way in instead of just a foot.

Just dropped out of school today, last day of term :D (although not the last day for the rest of my year, I just thought I'd give it until the end of the term. All those fuckers still have 5 left :p)

Hello world...

Fuck that noise.

I worked even more than that on my business for the past 2 years, and I just graduated this week.

Start school - Finish it, you will be much prouder of your achievements.

Friend goes there same program. Hear U of T policies suck crap and students have no life, what am hearing true or no?

Well, I am probably not the one to ask, because I think I spent a total of maybe 10 hours actually sitting in lectures last semester, but it does suck pretty bad. Talk about no chick selection either - come to think about it, the only time I actually went to class was to talk to this one hot chick. But whatever.

Don't come here.
