Difficulty getting approved...

I'm looking for some tips or referrals on how to get approved by the networks. I've applied to several and so far haven't had any success. I live in the US, speak English well, and although I don't have any real experience with IM, I feel like I have enough understanding to get involved and spend some money testing direct-to-offer campaigns.

What is the reasoning behind denying an application to a network? Is it a case of prudence in regards to fraud, or something else? I currently own a handful of domains, and I'm in the process of populating them with content, but I need some offers to work with.

I realize I'm completely new, and I thank you in advance for any advice you might have.

Thank you music, I appreciate the help. I did speak with someone from A4D, on two occasions, but she seemed to be put off for some reason. I explained that I was looking to get into CPC direct-to-offer, and she said that she would need to look at the application again before she made a decision. Seeing as I'm new to this and I don't know any IMs who have established relationships with AMs at the networks, how could I go about getting a referral?

First you need to have a fully built website with content, prior to applying to networks.

The easiest networks to get into are PeerFly, Advert Marketing and CPA lead. There might be others that are easy to get in but these are the ones I know that you are almost certain to be accepted. Yes it is a case of prudence regarding fraud.

Thanks for your help, cedricloi. I suppose I'll need to get some more content on my domains before I reapply. I was hoping for an opportunity to peruse some offers prior to writing content for my site, to increase relevancy, but obviously that idea is not going to work here. Do you think that 5 pages of quality original content would be enough, or can I get away with more or less?
 
Yes 5 pages of good content should be enough for the networks I mentioned, as this is about what I have on my website and I was accepted. You can check out almost all of the networks' offers on websites such as offervault.com

I've read a lot of threads about the rise and fall of flogs. If my site is formatted as a straightforward blog via WP, will this have a negative impact on my chances? Would I be better off using a different CMS/style?

So, a WP blog with a non-default theme and a handful of posts on it should be enough to get accepted by the networks you mentioned above? This is great news. I'm thinking of starting a case-study thread on this, for other newbies. I've got plenty of time and some money to devote to the project, and reasonable expectations I think...
 
Yes but these networks are not the best. CPAlead is good, but peefly and advert marketing are not the best, they don't pay as high commissions and have less offers. So you can start with these networks but continue to improve to try and get accepted by the other big guys such as neverblue.

Hi, mega-newb here,

I have not applied to an affliate yet, still learning wordpress (I am not technical, my degree is in finance and marketing). To clarifiy, a simple WP blog with a different theme with any possible narrative is acceptable or does it have to be buisness/selling/marketing related. That is to say, can I simply have a blog about my grandma's doll collection (kidding) or is it better to showcase a review blog of a product I am familiar with? Thanks...

The impression I'm getting from hanging out on WF is that a laser-targeted niche site like "antique porcelain dolls" has distinct advantages over a site with a broader appeal, at least as far as newbies are concerned. It seems that the more esoteric your content, the easier it should be to rank for your keywords. Monetization is another story, I suppose. Have you looked at offervault at all?
 
Just bullshit your way in, when you call them act like a pro, if they ask questions about traffic, it doesnt really matter what you answer but how you answer. Its not hard, good luck.

I didn't have much luck bullshitting my way into Ads4Dough, I think the fact that I didn't have a domain populated with content probably hurt me a little...If I'm primarily interested in running a direct-to-offer FB campaign, why do I need to have a domain to be approved? I'm a little bit confused by this.
 
Well even if you don't have much experience fake it till you make it. What I would suggest is try applying with PPC. That usually helps you a lot. Read up on it so you don't have to make up something on the spot. Write a little story repeat it again and apply for the network.

Thanks, Lynch- I'm in the process of building out 3 EMDs, and should have the content ready to drip by Monday. Once I've got content on the domains, I feel pretty confident about being able to get approved by a CPA network for the verticals I'm interested in. Everyone says do,do,do, and I understand analysis paralysis, but spending a month reading these forums and thinking about things has really cleared things up for me. For one thing, I'm not starting any more threads to ask questions that have already been addressed elsewhere on the board...:thumbsup:

Just so you know, ^ this guy is wrong regarding "needing a fully built website with content"

He has led you astray, as...reading the rest of these posts in this thread it seems you're now focused on having enough content on your domain.

My advice - don't worry about the content on your domain, or even having a domain at all. As someone else said... from my experience, it's not what you answer, but how you answer. I was a HUGE fucking newbie when I first applied to networks, but rather than focus on how new I was, I instead focused on how dedicated I was. You may have gotten unlucky with who you spoke to at A4D as well. Contact another AM from A4D. Also, peerfly just accepted me without a phone conversation or anything.

Grieve! I've been following your case study posts, and they've been very inspirational. Actually, I'm a little bit glad that I got smacked down by A4D, because it caused me to take a step back and really decide how I wanted to approach this. I feel like I have a good plan now, and I'm excited to see what kind of results I get.
